Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Simone Custodio

Hi Bri Simone, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Realtor’s Leap

I remember my very first closing, a modest townhome on the Southside of Atlanta. I had both the privilege and responsibility of assisting a gentleman whose home had been destroyed by a fire over the Christmas holidays. My heart swelled with pride as I handed the keys to MY very first client who trusted me through the process after being told by others that homeownership wasn’t within his reach at the time. That moment, etched with joy and gratitude, is why I now continue to take the leap year after year, no matter how the market swings.

I haven’t always been a realtor, although I’ve been in the real estate industry for about 2 decades now. For years, I climbed the corporate ladder, arming myself with an MBA and a sharp business acumen. My corporate career was financially fulfilling but something was always missing. I felt like a cog in a machine with most of my time devoured by meetings, reports and a never-ending workload that always seemed to follow me home. That all changed after the Covid Pandemic when I met my former broker Valyn Cole at a fundraising event for former Mayor Kasim Reed. I had been a licensed real estate agent for at least 4 years at the time but had never taken “the leap”. I was a divorced mom of 3 who relied heavily on the safety net and consistency that my job provided so although I had my real estate license, I was always too scared to leave my corporate career to pursue the life of a realtor. I had been working from home for over 2 years and now it was finally time to return to the office 5 days a week for countless hours. The realization hit HARD: I was about to go back to sacrificing precious valuable time with my children for a job that didn’t fulfill me. I prayed for clarity and the answer came swiftly and boldly. About 2 months after that chance encounter with my former broker, I, sitting in my office, picked up the phone and made the call. I was ready to take the leap! It was risky to be leaving a stable corporate job for the uncertainty of commission-based work, but I had no choice. I trusted God. I trusted myself. I trusted the vision.

In November of 2021, I took the leap, becoming a full-time realtor with no guarantee except my own determination and an awesome mentor, Dedra Carter, who I was blessed to befriend while I was getting my feet wet. My MBA gave me a strategic edge and my corporate experience had taught me resilience, professionalism and a grit that would help me become a Top-Producing Agent within my first year, closing deal after deal. My phone rang constantly, my days were filled with client meetings, open houses and nonstop career development. But this time, I controlled my time, carving out moments for my family and myself.

My reputation as a trusted real estate advisor with the ability to creatively strategize financial solutions and someone who can get the job done continues to grow. Clients admire my warm but transparent approach as well as my tireless advocacy. I have become a Realtor who makes homeownership possible for many who thought they’d never qualify and I take great pride in that. I work with first-time homebuyers, veterans, single parents and families rebuilding after financial hardships as well as luxury clients, investors and repeat buyers/sellers seeking a knowledgeable and hardworking Real Estate Advisor to help them seamlessly navigate the process from start to finish. I don’t just sell real estate; I bring homes and hearts together.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many obstacles, including the ever-changing real estate market which goes up and down. There’s a lot of rejection in this business but it’s important to keep going. I have to be intentional about networking and meeting new people. I also have to be intentional about managing my time because real estate can be a 24/7 job. The biggest obstacle by far is making sure I have consistent business coming in to ensure financial stability in the absence of a regular paycheck.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I bring hearts and homes together as a Realtor and Associate Real Estate Broker. As a listing agent, I am known for my ability to ensure my client’s homes are sold in a timely manner to capture high profits. As a buyer’s agent, I specialize in helping individuals achieve their homeownership goals while saving them money by finding and utilizing available programs and grants to help pay for their down payment and closing costs.

How do you think about luck?
Luck definitely plays a role in my business with regard to right time, right place. BUT the for the most part, my success is determined by hard work, resilience, networking, persistence, expertise, work ethic and my faith in GOD.
