Exploring Life & Business with Sydney St. Fleur of Social Bijou

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney St. Fleur

Hi Sydney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I was captivated by cinematography, the art of storytelling, and entrepreneurship. In elementary school, I would write, create films using my PC’s camera, and edit the footage with Windows Movie Maker. Around the same time, I participated in a program called “Talented and Gifted” (TAG), which introduced me to the basics of business through a hands-on fundraising project. For the project, I researched what was popular among kids my age and decided to create and sell duct tape flower pens and wallets.

After seeing the success of my product, I was inspired to take on new challenges. I taught myself how to crochet and began selling handmade bags to the girls in my classes. These early ventures not only sparked my entrepreneurial spirit but also served as a catalyst for the creative and storytelling-driven work I do today.

By the time I was 16, I set out to create a business that allowed me to earn money remotely while balancing high school. Initially offering video editing and transcription services, I gradually built a base of consistent, retainer clients. Securing a contract with Atlanta Ballet in 2022 was a pivotal moment—it not only further solidified my confidence but also inspired me to expand my business’ scope and establish a physical presence within my community. I began to offer videography, photography, and social media management services, assisting businesses, organizations, and individuals achieve their goals in the digital space. What’s propelled me forward has been my resilience, passion, and commitment to growth.

While I’m proud of how far I’ve come, I recognize that there’s always more to learn and accomplish—something I embrace as part of the journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it hasn’t been overwhelmingly difficult to navigate either—it’s been a journey of perseverance. One of my biggest challenges early on was finding and securing ideal clients. Over time, through consistency and refining my craft, I’ve reached a point where many clients now find me through my website, LinkedIn, or freelancing platforms. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see my hard work pay off and to know that I’ve built a reputation that attracts the right opportunities.

I specialize in videography, video editing, photography, and social media management, offering tailored services designed to meet each client’s unique needs.
