Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Pascale.
Hi Vanessa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My affinity for the arts and entertainment began at an early age. As a child, I voraciously devoured Sweet Valley books, The Big Bopper interviews, Blockbuster’s latest releases, and filled notebook after notebook with poetry. I was born to be a writer and to work in this industry.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida, which is where I grew up. As fate would have it, my first editorial assignment was an in-person interview with TV personality/interior designer, Genevieve Gorder for Orlando Style.
My writing has been published in magazines across the nation (Modern Luxury’s The Atlantan, Interiors Atlanta, Interiors Southeast, Jezebel, Weddings Atlanta, Datebook; VUE Atlanta; LA Direct; San Diego Magazine; Phoenix Magazine; Miami Living; Simply Buckhead; Decatur Living; South Magazine); on websites (website content, executive bios); and has helped sell multimillion-dollar real estate.
I am the former editor-in-chief of Miami Living (12 years) and presently, the editor of VUE Atlanta. I lived in Los Angeles and New York City for several years before moving to Atlanta.
I am elated to still be interviewing people I admire and writing about my greatest passions: entertainment, food, fashion, and travel. Through the written word, I strive to inspire, entertain, and uncover the magic that lies in every story I tell.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has taken a lot of hard work to get where I am today. Publicists don’t typically hand over their high-profile clients and brands, it took years to establish these important relationships and build a name and reputation for myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lifestyle journalist and editor. I would say my speciality is interviews with high-profile people and celebrities. I am proud to have interviewed some really impressive names, including Meghan Markle, Paris Hilton, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Harry Connick Jr. I think I am disarming and I make it easy for people to open up to me, which is essential when you’re an interviewer.
What are your plans for the future?
I look forward to keep doing what I am doing. I love what I do.
