Today we’d like to introduce you to LaKesha Tenny.
LaKesha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m an Atlanta, GA native and product of a musically inclined family with strong industry ties. Artsy from the start, my interests varied from dancing and TV production to graduating with a B.S. in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. But with a vision and drive, I founded Dream House Casting & Productions in hopes of offering the ATL an innovative vibe to its casting calls. I am now producing Mama B’s Press N Curl, a stage play written by Sandra Sedgwick Williams, and other select projects with ViverMTV. I am a legacy member of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Incorporated (Atlanta Chapter) and work hard to push the culture of artistry, community, and genuine storytelling.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but easy. Along the way, I’ve faced countless lessons—from navigating the politics of the dance culture and enduring failed projects, to sacrificing time with family and friends, pushing through long nights, and having my integrity tested at every turn. There is no question that the journey has been challenging, yet every obstacle carries a lesson, and every lesson brings growth. Success is never achieved without failure, and I believe each setback is part of the greater design—shaping resilience, purpose, and the determination to ultimately conquer every challenge.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My creativity has always been the foundation of my journey. From discovering a love for dance at a young age in Atlanta’s thriving music culture to founding my own dance company, I’ve used creativity as a way to express, connect, and inspire. Over time, that creative drive expanded into producing television, theater, and film, where I continue to reimagine how stories are told. Whether it’s launching Dream House Casting & Productions to bring a fresh, innovative approach to casting in Atlanta, producing Mama B’s Press N Curl, or shaping content for ViverMTV, my creativity fuels both vision and execution. It’s the bridge between artistry and business, allowing me to transform ideas into meaningful experiences that uplift communities and leave a lasting impact.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m also the founder of Atlanta-based Success Chasers LLC and Canvas Studios ATL. I’m a board member of Black Lives Matter Grassroots Atlanta.
