Nike Odusanya shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Nike, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
“In the first 90 minutes of my day, I focus on setting a strong tone both physically and mentally. I usually wake up around 5:30 AM and start with a quick hygiene routine and light mental prep — sometimes journaling or reviewing key priorities. By 5:45, I spend about 15 minutes doing a remote patient check-in, reviewing any overnight updates, flagging anything urgent, and prepping mentally for the day ahead.
At 6:00 AM, I transition into my workout. I follow a structured program — typically strength training or a mix of functional training and HIIT. That session lasts about 45 minutes, followed by a quick cooldown. After my workout, I shower and make a green smoothie, which is a staple in my routine. It usually includes spinach, banana, protein powder, chia seeds, and almond milk — something clean and energizing.
By 7:00 AM, I’m mentally sharp, physically energized, and ready to hit the ground running. That routine gives me structure, focus, and the momentum I need to lead effectively throughout the day.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nike, and I’m a Registered Trauma Nurse with an extensive background in plastic surgery and post-operative care. I’m also a proud wife, mother, and a deeply dedicated businesswoman.
I’m the founder of Bodied RN, a post-operative care business based in Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in personalized, high-level recovery care for both men and women following plastic surgery procedures—or any surgery that requires professional medical support. What sets Bodied RN apart is our commitment to blending clinical expertise with compassionate, concierge-style care, ensuring every client feels safe, supported, and seen during one of the most vulnerable parts of their journey.
I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Emory University, and over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the top professionals in Miami, Florida, and Cali, Colombia—both global hubs for aesthetic surgery. These experiences have not only shaped my skills but have also fueled my passion for excellence in recovery care.
I’ve been blessed to consistently deliver top-tier care, and I’m incredibly proud of the trust my clients place in me and the growing team at Bodied RN. Whether someone is traveling for surgery or recovering locally, our mission remains the same: to provide safe, skilled, and seamless healing—because recovery doesn’t end when the surgery does.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My beautiful boyfriend—who’s now my husband and the father of our child—saw me clearly before I ever fully saw myself. He believed in my strength, my vision, and my potential long before I was ready to own it. His unwavering support and quiet confidence in me gave me the courage to step fully into who I am today—as a nurse, a mother, a businesswoman, and a leader. He saw the light in me during moments I only saw the hustle, and for that, I’m forever grateful. I always hear people say that your partner is the biggest investment you’ll ever make, and I can honestly attest that choosing him has been the most important and impactful decision of my life. He didn’t just stand beside me—he poured into me, and helped me become the woman, nurse, mother, and entrepreneur I am today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, absolutely. There were moments—especially in the early stages of building my business and balancing motherhood, marriage, and my nursing career—when the weight of it all felt overwhelming. The sleepless nights, the financial risks, the emotional exhaustion…it sometimes felt like too much.
There was a point where I questioned if I could really do it all—if I was being unrealistic trying to be everything to everyone while pouring into a dream that hadn’t fully taken shape yet. But every time I got close to giving up, I reminded myself why I started. I thought of the women and men who needed safe, professional care after surgery. I thought of my daughter watching me chase purpose. I thought of the legacy I’m building—not just for my family, but for those I serve.
So yes, I came close. But I never stopped. And I’m grateful every day that I kept going.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh yes—absolutely. Anyone who knows me will tell you: Nike is the light when she walks into a room. My energy radiates naturally, and I’m truly loved by so many because I show up as my full self—always. I live life fully, I travel often, and I’ve found a rhythm that lets me work hard and play even harder.
I’m the friend people look up to, the motivator in the group, and that same energy carries over to my clients. Whether someone is going through a major life change or just needs encouragement, I’m always the one reminding them that we’re all here to change lives and be a light for those around us. My authenticity isn’t a brand—it’s just who I am.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely—and honestly, that’s the reality of being an entrepreneur. Most people only see the highlight reel—the wins, the travel, the success, the polished moments. What they don’t see are the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the tears, and the relentless discipline it took to get here.
I’ve learned that real success often happens in silence. There were so many times I had to show up for myself, give 100%, and keep pushing forward—even when no one was clapping, when no one saw the work behind the scenes. People make assumptions from the outside looking in, but they rarely understand the full story.
I do what I do not for the praise, but because I’m deeply committed to my purpose. Whether anyone acknowledges it or not, I’ll always give my best—because I know what I’m building is bigger than me.
