Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Rendon.
Hi Jacqueline, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started the beauty industry when I was 16 years of age, I got licensed though Stateboard on July 19, 2013 and on November 28, 2016 I became a Master cosmetology instructor
It has been quite a journey . I worked for 3 beauty schools where I gained experience and I discovered that I wanted to own my own school and be able to help women and push them to believe that being in the beauty industry is a real career. Learning from different artist and always keeping up to date with educational classes, continuing education, and beauty shows has shaped me in my career , I always want women to know that we never stop learning and staying humble in this industry is a big factor to growth.
I’m a firm believer that we can only go far with a great dependable team.
As a mother of a four year old and a 2 month old baby, wife, entrepreneur, Emmy award winning makeup artist, and an immigrant Latina 100% Mexican 🇲🇽
I want to inspire others to be whoever they want. There is no limit on how much you can accomplish if you’re determined and committed.
We can get far but we have to be happy doing what we love
I am now a business woman, CEO at New Era Artist Beauty Academy, creator of my own makeup line “Forbidden Goddess cosmetics”,
I am a proud Emmy-Award winning makeup artist.
While building a brand may have looked effortless from the outside, starting a business at age 23 with no resources or funding quickly forced me to realize that early-stage entrepreneurship was anything but transparent, yet not impossible.
I am a firm believer in investing in my education,
I”, whether through formal degrees, certifications, workshops, or even self-directed learning, is widely recognized as a crucial investment in your future. It opens doors to career advancement and enhances personal growth and well-being.
To this day, I continue taking courses and staying up-to-date on new trends to provide the best possible service to the academy as an instructor.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a rocky road but honestly it’s all worth it.
I’m a firm believer in God and I do believe that even the bad happens for my own good. For instance, I have started from the bottom to where I have been a makeup artist for Telemundo since their location was in Duluth and sometimes I wouldn’t even have money for gas or food yet I never showed that I would put $10 of gas to get there and be responsible and til this day I still have a good standing working relationship with Telemundo Georgia doing makeup for their anchors and news reporters
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a beauty school that offers
Professional courses;
Master cosmetology, Instructor, Esthetics, Nail tech to be able to obtain your license through Stateboard of cosmetology.
We also offer certifications like
Lash course, nail short course, microblading, makeup, and updos.
We find a way to help as much as we can our students to enter the beauty industry and be able to see the real money.
As a Latin woman I understand that just simple fact that we are latinas and a women minority we have to work twice as hard to get what we deserve and that’s ok but we push through and encourage every student to understand that the beauty industry might seem saturated but there will always be room for one more as long as you are determined
We always do incentive raffles , keep the students motivated, and engage as much as we can to prove that the instructors working at the school are still active stylist, makeup artist . Etc) professionals not just teaching but keeping up to date with reduces and trends
We encourage our students to do everything right even if it takes doing the practice 100 times but you have to enter the industry knowing
Many schools only focus on the curriculum we don’t we focus on the real day to day salon instables and how to over come them learning the proper techniques and usage of professional products
What are your plans for the future?
We just moved from a location in Tucker to a larger location in Norcross
The goal is to keep growing but to be able to have our students speak proudly of the academy. We plan on the future to expand and be able to have franchises.
