Meet Trailblazer Danielle Cartwright

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Cartwright.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, even though it may be unbelievable I have always known I wanted to be a wedding planner. As a little girl, I would sketch wedding flowers, cut wedding images out of magazines while creating my very first inspiration boards & instead of playing house with my best friend, we dressed up as bridesmaids and brides helping each other down the aisle while entertaining our room full of furry wedding guests. 🙂

I always felt a connection to the arts and designing. I took fashion design classes throughout high school, loved sketching & often found myself inspired by textures and nature.

Upon graduating college, I accepted a job at a Hilton property working as an event sales manager and venue coordinator for three years. During my time at this property, I oversaw a wide variety of events, as well as interned with local Atlanta wedding planners & other venues on the weekends to learn even more about the wedding industry.

I quickly realized my calling was to start my own business and take on my own clients.

I started Detailed I Do’s in 2014, and have enjoyed the thrill of witnessing our growth every since.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think starting a business is an obstacle and challenge in itself. It’s really scary taking the leap from a full-time job that provides financial security to something you aren’t sure will succeed. I didn’t take the smart route, I didn’t have any savings built up or a fancy business plan. I jumped in and learned tough lessons as I excelled, which I wouldn’t change!

My biggest goal before starting my business was to one day have a team of dynamic girl bosses who not only felt like family to me but feel like friends and supporters to our clients. But this proved to be a tough feat. It took years to form a strong, spirited crew. But I feel so blessed to have such a sweet squad now! Our clients love our Detailed I Do’s team. I feel like they witness our energy at each event and know they are surrounded by love not just by their families but by us as well!
