Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Richardson.
Hi Ebony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a single mother to a now 15-year-old, and everything I do is rooted in providing stability, love, and a strong example for her. I work seven days a week to support us, and through that journey I discovered that my true purpose is serving others.
My interest in skincare began on a personal level. I struggled with hyperpigmentation and wanted to understand how to treat it effectively not only for myself, but so I could help others who were experiencing the same concerns. That curiosity turned into passion and purpose.
In 2022, I enrolled in aesthetic school while working full-time at a law firm in downtown Atlanta. I attended school at night after long 9–5 workdays, all while being an active, present mom. Balancing work, school, and motherhood was extremely challenging, but I remained committed and completed my education in 2023–2024. I earned my aesthetician license in 2024.
That same year, I was introduced to Head Spa services, and it immediately resonated with me. I have been working as a Head Spa technician since then, and it has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. The most rewarding aspect is hearing clients express how relaxed, cared for, and restored they feel after their service. Those moments reaffirm that I am walking in my purpose.
Today, I am a licensed aesthetician and Head Spa technician, while still maintaining a full-time 9–5 career and raising a straight-A student. I take pride in my work ethic, resilience, and dedication to service. Helping others feel confident, relaxed, and cared for brings me the greatest joy, and I am grateful to continue growing in a field that aligns so deeply with who I am.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing multiple roles at once, being a single mother, working a full-time 9–5 job, attending aesthetic school at night, and still showing up fully for my daughter. There were many days that were physically exhausting and mentally draining, but quitting was never an option.
Time management and financial pressure were constant challenges. Investing in school, licensure, and continuing education while maintaining household responsibilities required discipline, sacrifice, and faith. There were moments of self-doubt, especially stepping into a new industry while already committed to a full-time career.
Another challenge was learning to trust myself and my purpose. Transitioning into the skincare and Head Spa space required confidence, patience, and the willingness to grow through trial and error. Building skill, consistency, and credibility took time.
Despite these obstacles, every challenge strengthened my resilience. They taught me perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of staying committed to my purpose. Each hurdle has shaped me into a more grounded professional and a stronger example for my daughter.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed aesthetician and Head Spa technician focused on scalp health, relaxation, and intentional care. I am still growing in my esthetic practice, but I am known for my strong work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine heart for service. What I’m most proud of is my commitment to learning, showing up consistently, and creating a calm, restorative experience for every client.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is going to Hilton Head with my dad when he worked at the resorts. He was a general manager for Marriott properties and would bring me, my sister Andrea, and my brother Eric along. We spent our days riding bikes all over the island and always came back around lunchtime for Whoppers from Burger King. Those trips were simple, fun, and full of freedom, memories I’ll always cherish.
