Today we’d like to introduce you to Blakley.

Hi Blakley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a gear head since I was a kid. For some of us, the obsession with cars is not something we grow out of. The idea of being able to work with the cars I’m passionate about on a daily basis and alongside the people who share that same passion was a dream. All throughout high school I had 2 regular jobs and also had 2 side businesses- car detailing and landscaping. Out of high school, my only goal was to get out of my hometown so I headed off to college to get a Music Business degree…I know, not the most optimal choice looking back but it was a choice. Since I wasn’t able to become a rockstar, I decided to get into banking back in 2013 as a means to a steady paycheck and build my resume. What I thought would be short term, turned into a permanent career as I was able to move up the corporate ladder relatively quickly. This was crucial for experience as I was able to apply the same knowledge around finances and business development to my own entrepreneurial aspirations. I started collecting old Mercedes during my time at the bank as it had become my main passion. As I became further immersed into the world of classic Benzes, I quickly realized that the world needed a platform dedicated to these cars for enthusiasts and collectors to buy and sell. The online auction space was great at one time but had become a one-size fits all format which lacked in expertise and user support due to overwhelming volume. As a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, I wanted to create a platform that was exclusively focused on the brand with educated and passionate enthusiasts behind it. And just like that, The MB Market was born. Over the last 5+ years, I, along with my great friend and co-founder Ben Everest, have worked relentlessly to build the ultimate platform for Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As the saying goes: if it was easy, everyone would do it. This has been everything but easy, yet, it has been every bit worth it. There have been countless unforeseen setbacks and mountains to climb both professionally and personally. The incredible community of fellow Benz enthusiasts from around the world have been incredible in helping us to grow and overcome each step of the way. We’ve finally got a clear runway in front of us for 2026 and are excited to rollout some new stuff as the year progresses.
