Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi..
Naomi., we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out making music at a young age; I was in choir and musical theatre all throughout my middle school and high school years. Once I graduated high school, I decided to leave South Florida and move to Atlanta to pursue music. I studied music and media in college, and after I got my degree I started releasing music independently under the artist name “Naomi.” Since then I’ve been on my journey as an indie artist, releasing music and performing all over the country and connecting with people worldwide.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall it’s been a smooth road, I’ve been really lucky to be surrounded by amazing people who support me and believe in the vision. I think the biggest obstacle for me personally has been managing my personal life and a full-time job while also pursuing music. There have definitely been many sleepless nights and several times where I’ve doubted myself, but it’s super important to remind myself of the reasons why I’m doing it. Nothing is more fulfilling than following my dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would describe myself as a sultry alto vocalist distinguished by my bold makeup looks, unique style and signature sound that is inspired by artists like Doja Cat and PinkPantheress. What I’m most proud of is that I’ve found a musical identity that suits me perfectly, and my dreamy, futuristic electro-pop flow resonates with people from all walks of life. I have a new single I’m releasing on May 30th called “Touch It (On Repeat)” and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. It’s the perfect vibe for summer, and I really think you guys will love it.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories were always at Warped Tour. I grew up in a small town in South Florida not too far from the amphitheater where it was hosted every year. My oldest bother and my close friends would always come with me and we would spend the whole day listening to our favorite bands. Those are the memories I’ll always hold dear, and they’re a huge part of the reason I decided to pursue music.
