Exploring Life & Business with Katherine of Heyy Honey, Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine.

Hi Katherine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Katherine Hasenauer, and I’m the founder of Heyy Honey, Co., I’m a mom, entrepreneur, and creative with a love for fashion, travel, music, and finding joy in the little details that make life feel special.

Heyy Honey, Co. began as a small creative idea that quickly turned into something much bigger. After years of working in travel and creating memorable experiences for others, I found myself wanting a creative outlet of my own; something hands-on, personal, and full of personality.

What started with a love for custom hats and trendy accessories became a brand built around confidence, self-expression, and creating pieces that feel special to the person wearing them. Inspired by everything from country music and coastal vacations to girls’ trips and everyday life, Heyy Honey, Co. blends playful style with meaningful moments. Building this brand has been about creating something joyful, creative, and authentic; a brand that helps people wear what makes them feel most like themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest obstacles I’ve faced while building Heyy Honey, Co. has been learning how to balance entrepreneurship with motherhood and everyday life. Building a brand from the ground up takes a lot of time, creativity, and consistency, and there have been moments where I’ve had to learn to give myself grace while still showing up for my goals.

Another challenge has been stepping outside of my comfort zone and believing in my own ideas enough to share them publicly. Starting something creative can feel vulnerable, especially when you’re building it from scratch and learning as you go. I’ve had to be the designer, marketer, creator, customer service team, and business owner all at once while figuring things out in real time.

Those challenges have made the brand even more meaningful to me. They’ve taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of building something that feels genuine to who I am.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Heyy Honey, Co?
At Heyy Honey, Co., I create custom hats and accessories designed to help people express their personality and style in a fun, wearable way. My work includes designing and hand-creating pieces inspired by travel, country music, beach life, girls’ trips, concerts, and everyday moments that deserve a little extra sparkle.

I also host pop-up hat bar experiences where people can customize their own hats with patches, chains, pins, and accessories to create something completely unique to them. One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to turn someone’s idea or vision into something personal that they’re excited to wear and make memories in.

Everything I create is centered around confidence, creativity, and helping people feel like the best version of themselves.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family deserves so much credit for supporting me while building Heyy Honey, Co., especially my husband, Sage Hasenauer. He has been one of my biggest supporters from the very beginning and has encouraged me through every idea, late night, and new challenge that comes with building a business. Having someone who believes in me and pushes me to keep going has meant more than I can put into words.

I also give credit to every person who has supported the brand so far, whether that’s through shopping small, sharing my work, attending a pop-up, or simply cheering me on. As a small business owner, every bit of support truly makes a difference and helps keep the dream growing.
