Hi Chanelle , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in the beauty industry in 2017 with lashes, driven by a passion for helping people feel confident, seen, and beautiful. What began as a small dream quickly became a deeper journey through entrepreneurship, personal growth, and purpose. Over the years, I’ve experienced many different seasons of business; learning how to build clientele, market myself, navigate challenges, become an effective instructor, and stay consistent even during difficult moments.
As my artistry and coaching evolved, I expanded into permanent makeup services including ombré brows and lip neutralization, allowing me to provide transformational beauty experiences that go beyond the surface. My work has always been rooted in creating a safe, uplifting environment where clients leave feeling empowered both inside and out.
Entrepreneurship has taught me resilience, discipline, faith, and the importance of continuously reinventing yourself. Today, almost 9 years later, I’m proud to still be growing, creating, teaching, and stepping into new levels of purpose. Beyond beauty, I’m passionate about inspiring others (especially women and aspiring entrepreneurs) to believe in themselves, heal, take risks, and build lives that align with peace, purpose, and success.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Entrepreneurship has challenged me in ways I never expected, both professionally and personally. Over the years, I’ve had to learn how to balance building a business while navigating real life challenges behind the scenes from relationship struggles and uncertainty about where I was going to live, to experiencing depression, grief after losing my grandmother, and healing from personal past traumas.
One of the hardest parts of being in the beauty industry is that even during difficult seasons, you still have to show up. There were times I was fully booked, emotionally exhausted, and still committed to giving every client my best energy and experience. That taught me a lot about discipline, resilience, and the importance of protecting my mental health while pursuing success.
I’ve also had to overcome self doubt, burnout, and the pressure that can come with entrepreneurship and social media. But every challenge strengthened me, deepened my faith, and reminded me why I started. Those experiences shaped not only the businesswoman and artist I am today, but also the woman I’m continuing to become.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is centered around beauty, confidence, and transformation. My brand, Pearly Winks, and I have traveled all across the world and multiple states sharing our touch in the beauty industry. I specialize in luxury lash extensions, ombré brows, and lip neutralization services, while also educating many women from all over. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to create an experience where clients feel comfortable, valued, and empowered the moment they sit in my chair.
What sets me apart is the intention behind my work. I don’t just focus on beauty on the outside or “getting to the bag”, I genuinely care about how my people feel when they leave my space. My goal has always been to provide high quality artistry while creating an uplifting environment that allows clients to relax, feel heard, and walk away more confident than when they arrived. I look forward to creating a team of women that can provide the same love and artistry in one building with me as well. I’m also proud of the longevity and evolution of my brand. Starting in 2017, I’ve been able to grow through multiple seasons of entrepreneurship, continuously elevate my skills, expand into permanent makeup, and maintain a loyal clientele through consistency, authenticity, and passion for my craft.
Beyond services, my brand represents resilience, faith, self care, and growth. I want readers to know that my business was built through persistence, learning, and trusting the process and that beauty can be a powerful tool for confidence, healing, and self-expression. As I continue growing, I also hope to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, to believe in themselves, take risks, and build lives that align with purpose and peace. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Here’s two: I asked the company I worked for for over 6 years to give me more days off while not even guaranteeing if I’ll make all the money for my rent. Well guess what out of no where I did. My business was so booked I had to make a very hard decision to leave the job I loved and went full time being a lash artist. And now I’m on year 9 of no 9-5 just God and entrepreneurship. After 7 years I starting moving to different locations. SCARED! I didn’t know if my clients would come to me but they genuinely showed up for me everywhere I went. I don’t necessarily view myself as someone who takes reckless risks but I do believe growth requires faith, courage, and the willingness to move forward even when you don’t have every answer.
