Rising Stars: Meet Dj SoVain of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dj SoVain.

Hi Dj, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m originally From Philadelphia but moved down to the suburbs of north Atlanta when I was about 13. I always had a passion and an ear for music growing up. From jazz to soft rock I listen to it . My thing was if it caught my ear I’m loving it. I start making beats at young age, played around with dj’ing every so often but never took a serious until the COVID 19 “The pandemic “is where I officially decided to take it seriously to become a DJ.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting out was a challenge because no one knows who are and knows what You are capable of. Putting yourself out there can be a scary experience but at some point you have to tell yourself if this is what you truly want to do all that has to go out the window.

I’m an open format Dj that plays & enjoys just about every genre there is. I run a mobile Dj business for private & corporate events as well as spin at various lounges and Restaurants around the metro Atlanta. I specialize in smooth blends and seamless transitions. Spontaneous as mash ups on the fly. I enjoy bringing people together with music. I believe that what sets me apart. I’m able to play just about any genre. most dj’s stick to one type of genre. One box. With my sets You are gonna hear a lil Latin , a lil soca or Afrobeats or Edm while still getting to hear ur typical Hiphop & RNB Songs. The best feeling is when I’m able to take the crowd on a journey with music and leave them in the best mood ever.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking and building Organic Relationships are important in this industry with out that I don’t think I would have gotten this far as of yet. Face value is everything as well. Especially Having a solid mentor that’s able to show you something you may have thought you knew but you didn’t.
