Meet Santiago Marquez of Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Santiago Marquez.

Santiago, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the nonprofit sector 20 years ago while I was attending graduate school. I cut my teeth at the Latin American Association, a social services agency. Four years after working at the LAA, I took a position at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, leading a Latino Outreach Initiative.

That position allowed me to work on a national level. I was offered an opportunity to come work as an executive ten years ago and I jumped on the offer. since then, I have been at the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Has it been a smooth road?
Fundraising, management and politics are the biggest challenges.
