Hidden Gems: Meet Andy Tran of En Vogue Nails & Day Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Tran.

Andy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
So funny enough, I did not come from the beauty industry, or the Nails industry. I came from the banking industry.! I used to manage at Bank of America where I focus on management incustomer service and dealt up with a lot of small business owners! How I got started as when my family purchased a small nail salon in Alabama and from a small salon, we acquired a larger salon and eventually, we expand it to three salons! I grew up in Atlantis so I always missed my home city so eventually, I sold my partnership in Birmingham Alabama and move back to Atlanta where I started my first location in Atlantic Station in 2014!

Eventually I continued to build and acquired more locations, such as The Battery, Colony Square, Buckhead, Alpharetta! My wife and I are now in the process of rebranding all locations under one brand name called “En Vogue Nails” which in French means “instyle/in fashion” which was inspired when we recently went to Paris! This summer we will be doing our grand opening to our 3200 ft.² En Vogue Atlantic which will include 20 spa chairs, lash services, and a full bar! We are excited to bring a modern style and luxurious lounge style salon aimed at creating an upper echelon of Spa day experience!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was definitely a rough road for us when we first moved back to Atlanta from Alabama. We first purchased a small salon from this couple thinking that they were super nice and hospitable but as it turns out, it was a scam and we got hustled! Now looking back it was just a small lesson that God was helping us learn along the way on to entrepreneurship.

This summer, when we launch our brand, En Vogue Nails & Day Lounge will be the first nail salon in Atlanta with a lounge atmosphere and a full bar! We will be doing an all in one stop shop offering nail enhancements, waxing, lashes, and mini facials! Our aim is to elevate the nail salon experience with a 5 star hotel quality like feel!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
What’s surprising about me is I’ve been running nail salons for 15 years but I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO NAILS! lol
