Today we’d like to introduce you to Aja Nichols.
Aja, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After serving 5 years active duty Navy, I wanted to open my own practice. I decided that I would work for someone a couple of years to “learn the ropes” and then go out on my own. Soon after realizing the place I worked really didn’t want me to learn the ropes, I decided to just jump. Not knowing much about dental insurance or business, I took a leap of faith.
My practice has been open for 2 years now, and we are still learning and growing!
Has it been a smooth road?
Not too bumpy, but definitely not smooth. Managing others was a nice lesson along the way. I am not sure what other owners or managers of companies experience, but I learned quickly that everyone doesn’t think like “an owner”. Some people are only around to collect their paycheck.
That doesn’t make them wrong, it just puts things into perspective for me. People are who they are, and it is my duty to link up with the best ones out there to provide a positive and fun working environment and the best customer service experience for my patients.

I am the dentist and owner of Lifestyle Dentistry. We are known for not looking like or smelling like the normal dental office. Patients have compared their experience here to be at a spa. We are a relationship-driven practice. We thoroughly communicate with our patients, and they really get that we care about them.
We do the right things at the right time, for the right reasons. Patients can count on us to listen to them, inspire them to partner with us, focus on what’s important to them, and mostly, to educate and empower them to make the best decisions for their oral health.

There is always something to do here! No matter what day of the week it is, if I want to do something, I have many choices.
Of course, no one really loves the traffic here. 🙂
