Meet Catherine Anderson of Poor Little It Girl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Anderson.

Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Cathy attended Florida State University and quickly made her way to Manhattan after graduation to follow her passion for the fashion industry.

While there, she did editorial work for such major books as People StyleWatch, CosmoGirl, and J-14 magazine, where she assisted on countless editorial photo shoots, wrote about the latest teen heartthrobs, and developed her keen eye for achieving great style while on a budget.

After four years of city life, she launched her own personal style blog, Poor Little It Girl in 2010, and moved to Atlanta to work as the Style Editor for Atlanta Magazine in 2011.

While living in Atlanta, Cathy reconnected with her college sweetheart, Adam, and moved to be with him in Washington, DC in 2013, where they lived for three years. In 2016, the couple moved back to Atlanta, GA to be closer to family and start on a new adventure.

Since its start in 2010, Poor Little It Girl has been named one of People magazine’s “Most Stylish Blogs”, highlighted as a Washingtonian Style Setter, interviewed for domnio.com and stylemepretty.com and featured in the March 2016 print editions of People StyleWatch and Seventeen Magazine.

In addition to Poor Little It Girl, Cathy currently serves as co-founder of The Blog Societies, which is one of the largest blogger networking community across the country. Each year, they host a large annual conference, #TBScon!

Has it been a smooth road?
Moving to new cities is always a struggle. My blog has been in NYC, Atlanta, DC and now back to Atlanta. Making sure your audience is still engaged locally, and then moving again is hard.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Poor Little It Girl – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Poor Little It Girl is a personal style blog with a focus on petite and affordable fashion. I try to keep the focus of my blog personable, witty and approachable to readers.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Best: Food, always something to do, great friends, good events.

Worst: Traffic, of course.
