An Inspired Chat with Chef Shay of Tucker

We recently had the chance to connect with Chef Shay and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Chef Shay , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
My beautiful wife Stacy McCrommon.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

My name is Chef Shay , and I am the Owner of Flavors on Flavors LLC, a custom catering company.

Since founding Flavors on Flavors in 2022, we have specialized in providing flavorful, high-quality food and top-notch customer service. We commit to customizing every detail for our clients, from the decor to the menu. We are currently focused on networking with larger companies and securing major contracts.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was 16. I was deeply interested in race car driving and wanted to drive so badly!

Driving for the first time—and picking up all my friends—was a truly memorable and powerful moment for me.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
“What did suffering teach me that success never could?”

To start, I believe suffering and success are two fundamentally different aspects of life.

Suffering taught me to be more grateful, primarily because it showed me how long and difficult the path to success truly is. While success is wonderful, it often lacks the struggles and hardships that lead to deeper appreciation.

Success itself can come in many forms, but the lessons learned through adversity are often the most valuable.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Whose ideas do I relay on most that aren’t my own.

Proverbs 3:5-6,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Could I give everything my best, even if no one ever praised me for it.

My answer is a definite “Yes.” I continue to give my best every day, not for the sake of recognition. I believe that if the motivation for giving your all is purely for praise, the effort is not being made for the right or genuine reasons.
