An Inspired Chat with DECOIDE BREWER of Decatur

We recently had the chance to connect with DECOIDE BREWER and have shared our conversation below.

DECOIDE, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Honestly spending time with those I love and sharing good conversation.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“Well, I’m a relationship coach and a ministry consultant. In my work with ministries, I focus on bringing structure and organization back into place so that they can return to having a healthy, thriving culture. As a relationship coach, my heart is to remind people that love still exists—and that it can be experienced in a Godly, purposeful way.

In addition to that, I also host the Hello Love Podcast. It’s really an open dialogue where I sit down with guests and we talk through their personal stories—the highs, the challenges, and the lessons—in life, ministry, and family. It’s a space that’s real, transparent, and meant to inspire hope.”

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
“Wow… stepping fully into the calling of being a relationship coach has shown me just how much God can use us to change lives. I remember working with a young lady who was trapped in a very toxic relationship. She came to me broken, unsure of her worth, and struggling to see a way out. She booked a session, and together we worked—praying, processing, and walking through the hard truths. With God’s guidance, her faith, and the strategies we put in place, she found the courage to release what was destroying her.

The beauty of it all? She didn’t just let go of a toxic relationship—she stepped into God’s best for her. Today, she’s been married for over six years to an amazing man of God. That testimony reminds me daily why I do what I do: helping people not only escape broken cycles, but also positioning them to experience God’s design for love, relationships, and wholeness.”

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Being fully transparent… success has been one of my biggest fears. Not failure—success. For a long time, the thought of accomplishing something great and then not knowing what came next had me in a chokehold. It kept me second-guessing myself, hesitating, and even holding back on things God had already given me the grace to do.

But over this past year, something shifted. I finally let go of control, let Jesus truly take the wheel, and started walking in obedience. Did that instantly erase all fear? No. But what I realized was that it wasn’t really success I was afraid of—it was trusting God. Deep down, I wrestled with the thought that maybe—even Him—didn’t fully know what was best for me. Crazy, right?

Yet in surrender, I’ve discovered a deeper truth: God not only knows what’s best, but His plans are far greater than anything I could ever imagine for myself. The fear hasn’t disappeared completely, but trust has grown stronger. And that trust has become the anchor that allows me to keep moving forward, even when I don’t see the full picture.”

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If I’m being real, the one thing that truly defines me is my faith. I don’t have a large circle of friends, but the few who really know me would tell you that my walk with God is at the center of everything I do. And honestly—I don’t know where I’d be without Him.

My relationship with God is not just important, it’s everything. It’s my anchor, my foundation, and my lifeline. I’ve been through seasons where I didn’t have answers, where fear or uncertainty tried to grip me, but His presence carried me through. He has been constant when life has been unstable, faithful when I’ve been faithless, and merciful when I didn’t deserve it.

That’s why I live the way I live, love the way I love, and serve the way I serve—because without God, none of this would even be possible. He is the reason I am who I am today.”

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I’d love for people to say that I was a man whose heart was completely sold out to God—that my life reflected His love and my faith was real, not just something I talked about. That in everything I did, I was pointing others to Him, even in the small, quiet moments that no one sees.

I’d want my children to remember me as a dad who was truly present—someone who laughed with them, cried with them, and showed up in every part of their lives. A dad who didn’t just provide, but guided, encouraged, and loved them unconditionally. I want them to know that I cherished being their father and that my greatest joy was watching them grow into the people God created them to be.

And I’d hope my wife could say that I was more than just a husband—someone who loved her deeply, led with humility, and walked beside her through everything life threw at us. That I wasn’t perfect, but I was committed, faithful, and always striving to honor her, our family, and God in all I did.

At the end of the day, what matters most is that my life leaves a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. That long after I’m gone, the people I loved and served—my family, my friends, my community—would feel the imprint of a life surrendered to God, lived intentionally, and full of purpose.”
