Harriet Mordi shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Harriet, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
“My day officially starts around 6 a.m., though I typically begin earlier at 1 a.m i join NSPPD for prayer and spiritual preparation. then 6am In the morning, I wake my daughters, we pray together, and they get ready for school. Once they leave, I spend time centering myself sometimes through meditation and worship before reviewing my to-do list. I prioritize checking in with clients, vendors, and any key tasks for the day. I like to start my workday with intention, speaking over the day that it will be productive and purposeful. This routine allows me to approach my responsibilities with clarity, focus, and a sense of gratitude.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Harriet Mordi. I am a Project Manager and Certified Scrum Master who transitioned fully into my passion as an Event Planner and Event Coordinator. Today, I proudly run Emmanuel Signature Events here in Atlanta, where I design and execute elegant, memorable experiences for clients across the city, across the country, and beyond. I am fully available for travel within and outside the United States.
At the core of everything I do is my absolute dependence on the Holy Spirit my guide, my helper, and my source of wisdom. Every project I touch, every event I coordinate, and every decision I make is anchored in His direction and Emmanuel El-Roi (GOD) constant presence.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Who saw me first before I could see myself?
For me, the answer is simple: the Holy Spirit.
There were many things I did purely for fun things I enjoyed, things I did out of passion without realizing they were actually inner strengths, God-given abilities that would one day grow into a business, a brand, and a calling.
Long before Emmanuel Signature Events was born, I planned events for free. I loved organizing celebrations, bringing people together, and seeing joy on their faces. Whenever my friends had something to celebrate, I was the first to say, “Let’s do a party,” and I would gladly take over the planning without thinking twice. But at that time, I never saw it as a business. I never imagined I would one day run a company in this space.
Then everything changed.
During a 21-day fast, the Holy Spirit spoke to me clearly:
“It is time to turn your passion into resources.”
In that moment, He revealed to me that what I saw as ordinary, He had ordained as a ministry, a gift, and a vehicle for impact. He showed me a strength I didn’t even know I carried something that could serve the world, serve my generation, and bring glory to Emmanuel.
So when people ask who saw me first before I saw myself, I say boldly:
The Holy Spirit saw me, shaped me, and called me.
He brought purpose out of what I considered ‘just passion,’ and He birthed Emmanuel Signature Events from a place of divine guidance, not personal ambition.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one thing to my younger self, I would look at her and say, “Harrie Moore… you are stronger than you ever realized.” I would tell her, “You are resilient, you are brave, and I am deeply proud of you.”
At 26, you were standing with three little girls 5 years old and 18 months old twins, unsure of what to do or how life was supposed to go. You were overwhelmed, confused, and carrying more than anyone knew. But you kept going. You didn’t break. You didn’t give up. You chose courage even when fear was louder. And that decision changed everything.
I would tell my younger self, “You turned pain into purpose. You turned challenges into a future. You rose every time life tried to push you down.”
And I would remind her of one thing she did right: “I love the way you held on to God.” Because the God you trusted through tears, through loneliness, through uncertainty
He did not fail you. He showed up for you in ways you couldn’t see at the time.
So yes… if I could speak to that younger Harriet, I’d tell her, “I am so proud of you. You made it further than you ever imagined. And you did it with strength, with grace, and with God by your side.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If you ask my closest friends what really matters to me, they would all say the same thing without hesitation. They would tell you that what truly matters to Harrie Moore is her love for God. My relationship with God is unwavering, unshaken, and undeniable. I am completely sold out to Him, and anyone who knows me well can testify to that.
They would also say that I deeply love my children. My children are a huge part of my heart and my motivation.
My friends would tell you I am very big on integrity. They would tell you I am disciplined, I have strong values, and I don’t compromise who I am. They would say I am loyal, dependable, and someone you can count on without blinking.
These are the things people who know me really know me would always say about me.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
If you ask me whether I can give everything my best even when no one is praising me, my answer is yes. Absolutely.
I am very big on integrity, and I always want to satisfy my conscience first. I’m not somebody who depends on human validation or does things just to be liked or approved by people. That’s not who I am. As long as what I’m doing is right before God, my conscience is clear, and my intentions are pure, I’m fine.
I believe in doing things for humanity, for purpose, and with the right heart—whether anybody is watching or not. I don’t do eye service, and I don’t work for applause. I work from conviction. I work from sincerity. I work knowing that God sees everything.
So yes, I will always give my best, even in silence, even without praise, because I know why I’m doing it, and I know Who I’m doing it for.
