We’re looking forward to introducing you to JaQwannia Brown. Check out our conversation below.
JaQwannia, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day start with gratitude. I wake up and take a moment to thank God for another day, then make my bed, take a shower, and get dressed. After that, I dedicate some time to personal development. whether that’s reading or watching a sermon on YouTube to set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m JaQwannia Brown, the founder of That Jae Glow Fitness. I’m a personal trainer and stretch specialist with a passion for helping women feel confident, strong, and connected to their bodies. My brand is all about helping women find their “glow” not just through fitness, but through mindset, self-care, and building habits that last.
I’ve been in the fitness space for over four years, and I truly love seeing women transform. Not only physically, but in how they carry themselves and show up in life. What makes my brand special is that it’s rooted in empowerment and grace. I believe fitness should feel good and fit your lifestyle, not overwhelm it.
Right now, I’m working on expanding my online coaching programs and creating new ways for women to kickstart their fitness journey with confidence and support.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I would have to say my relationship with my family, especially my parents. This has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. Growing up, I didn’t always understand how to truly forgive them or see things from their perspective. Over time, I realized they did the best they could to raise me, and that understanding has brought us so much closer.
Now, I feel more comfortable expressing my emotions and being open with them. Having their full support and love, especially at this stage in my life, means everything. For a long time, I struggled with confidence and not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. But as I’ve grown and healed, I’ve become more grounded and confident in who I am and where I’m headed.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To my younger self, you are beautiful and loved.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Honestly, yes. What you see is really me. I’ve learned to show up as my true self, both online and offline. Of course, I have moments when I’m quiet or need to recharge, but the person I share with the world is genuine. I used to feel like I had to present a certain image, especially being in the fitness space, but now I’m more focused on being real and showing the wins, the lessons, and everything in between. That’s what “glow up” means to me. Being confident enough to be myself in every space.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I’ve always been told that I have a light, and over time I’ve realized that it shines through in how I connect with others. I’ve also recognized my natural ability to lead. Something I’ve had within me all along. I’ve shown glimpses of it, but lately I’ve been more intentional about truly stepping into that role and letting my confidence and leadership shine without holding back.
