We recently had the chance to connect with Jeanae’ and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeanae’, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My dogs!I rescued both of them from the euthanasia list thinking I was saving them… and it turned out they saved me. They’ve slowed me down in the best way and brought me back into the moment. They are my joy in fur!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
The last time we talked, I was growing my boutique. On the outside it looked amazing, but honestly? Everything lived in my head. Inventory, orders, customers… I was the system. That season taught me how heavy success can feel when your business outgrows your structure.
That’s actually what led me to start my new endeavor Jeanae Scales Systems. Now I help women who are making money and scaling, but still exhausted, get their business out of their head and into systems that actually work for them. It’s all about making the business support their life instead of the other way around.
For me, it’s not about hustle or doing more it’s about polish, sustainability, and actually enjoying the work you’ve built.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
It’s the part of me that felt uncomfortable asking for help. I used to wear my independence like a badge of honor and kept pushing myself until I was completely burnt out. That burnout taught me something important: it’s not sustainable, and it’s not healthy. It also showed me the power of asking for support and letting systems carry the load.Which is exactly why I started my new business
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most is the fear of being seen failing. I used to think that showing any sign of struggle would make me look weak or incapable. But over time, I’ve realized that vulnerability doesn’t diminish you. It actually creates space to learn, grow, and build stronger confidence in my capabilities, even if I fail.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I love this question! One of the biggest lies in the operations industry is that systems are one size fits all or just about checking boxes. A lot of people think if you build a process once, you’re done, but real systems are living frameworks that need to be tailored to the business, the founder, and the energy you want to create. Operations aren’t about rigid rules,it’s about creating structure that actually supports growth and freedom.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
I think I’d regret not fully stepping into my own power and building the business and the life that I actually want. For a long time, I played it safe, tried to do everything myself, and dimmed parts of myself to keep things “under control.” Looking back, I’d regret not trusting myself sooner, asking for help, and letting systems carry the load so I could really thrive.
