Check Out Nina Johnson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Johnson.

Hi Nina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m originally from California but I was raised in this little town called Conyers in Georgia. It’s not so little anymore. It’s grown since I was a little kid. Finding what I’m passionate about has been a journey because I honestly didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do until I became an adult, graduate college, and got into my career. Once I did a couple of years in my field as a medical professional (Respiratory Therapist), I started trying things that I like along the way. I had a hair business at one point, but I found myself gravitating towards the motivating, uplifting, and inspiring part of my business more than actually selling hair. It wasn’t until I started to see a pattern in my life where I enjoyed motivating people to be their best selves by going after my own dreams. I love to travel. After I graduated college, I promised myself I would travel.

During that time period, I thought it would be cool to own real estate out of the country. So, I started an investment property company called Altis Properties. I’m currently renovating my first property now and working towards buying three more properties this year. Money doesn’t grow on trees and your dreams have financial needs. So, I hope to use my investment property company as my retirement plan out of Respiratory Therapy. I intend to use those funds to make motivational video content, which I’m currently doing now on a smaller scale. My videos include everything from fashion all the way to spirituality and mental health. I use a range of topics from my life and hope to be transparent enough through the ups/downs to hopefully help another to not give up on what’s special inside of them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh, of course not! Isn’t that everybody though? Lol. As a child, I was bullied and had major issues growing up with rejection. I think the hardest thing for me has been fighting to stay true to who I am in spite of who I may lose in the process. Living in the south, people can be very traditional here. People hold onto their traditions almost to a fault and judge other’s individuality based on their preferences. I’ve had people along my journey who like to put me in a box of what they think a Christian woman should be and go for. Some family members didn’t always agree with my decisions in regards to chasing my purpose. However, I’ve learned that I have to live my life and no one else can live it as I can. That’s very special to me and I intend to try and accomplish what living looks like for me. Whether that’s exploring another country, motivational speaking, or being on tv one day, it will always be to inspire someone out there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Well, I guess the correct term would be a content creator/influencer on social media. I love creating content that inspires people to not give up on themselves. To live their truth unapologetically and to embrace the obstacles that may come along the journey in BEING YOU. Currently, I use fashion as a tool to help get those messages out to the public. Maybe one day Beyonce will see it!🤷🏽‍♀️🤣🤞🏽
