Check Out Andrane Cummings’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrane Cummings.

Hi Andrane , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up learning to cook in my home kitchen, watching my mother, grandfather, and aunts pour love into every meal. That foundation sparked a lifelong passion for food, which I nurtured through high school studies in food and nutrition and formal training in Jamaica.

Migration gave me the opportunity to work in nearly every aspect of the culinary field catering, private chef work, corporate dining, five-star fine dining, and even simple takeout spots. Each journey taught me something new. I was always willing to learn, accept correction, and keep trying, and those experiences shaped me into the chef and restaurateur I am today, leading to the creation of Flair Food Restaurant & Bar.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Being an entrepreneur especially a restaurateur comes with countless sleepless nights, long hours, and working overtime while often seeing little or no immediate results. Along the way, I’ve lost people I thought I could trust, only to experience some of the most disappointing and hurtful moments. There’s also the heavy overhead that comes with operating a restaurant and dealing with customers who sometimes feel entitled to cross boundaries. Despite all of that, my love for food and the joy of feeding people keep me motivated and pushing forward every day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative foodie, restaurant owner, executive chef, personal chef, and event planner. I’m best known for my exquisite Jamaican fusion cuisine, where I specialize in creating and executing menus of all kinds whether for intimate dinners, large-scale events, or restaurant concepts.
What I’m most proud of is me an immigrant who came to this country with nothing but a suitcase and a dream. Through countless challenges, I fought my way forward and achieved some of life’s greatest accomplishments. I’m especially proud of my growth over the past month, stepping out boldly and confidently, which has opened doors I once only imagined, including sitting in meetings with leaders like the Mayor of Atlanta.
What sets me apart is not just my skill, but my personality the calm I maintain even in the middle of a storm, paired with bold creativity that allows me to turn vision into unforgettable culinary experiences.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that may surprise people is that behind the bold flavors and creative concepts, I am very respectful, calm, and humble by nature. I’m extremely detail oriented and believe strongly that presentation, appearance, and flavor all matter equally. For me, food should look beautiful, taste unforgettable, and reflect intention in every element.
