Check Out Bria Rand’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Rand.

Hi Bria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I would love to introduce myself as the CEO of Engraved Beauty. I was first inspired as a child since the first day I sat in the Salon chair! I remembered it like yesterday. Growing up in Kansas City, MO, at the age of five, I knew I wanted to do hair as I got older, so my goal was to become a cosmetologist specializing in natural hair. Through my younger stages I would just do my dolls/barbies hair and since then I knew I had a gift. As the years went by and I got older, I started doing my classmates, peers, family and friend’s hair. In the fall 2012, after I graduated high school, I had so many opportunities to go to big colleges/universities, but I chose the path I always knew I wanted to do and that was to become my own boss as Cosmetologist, so I went to Summit Salon Academy of KC to pursue my dreams. From there graduated and completed my hours, I started to build my Clientele in my hometown out of my home.

As years went by, one day I decided to up and move to Atlanta, GA to pursue my career and become an entrepreneur there. Moving to Atlanta was a wake up call and probably one of the best decisions I ever did this far. While here in Atlanta, at first it was hard trying to build my clientele in such a big city. but I did not let that discourage me, only made me push my business harder. While doing hair, I also made my own hair growth oil, started using it on my clients and from the results, it sold itself. My hair growth oil does wonders. It helps grow your hair, softens it, moisturize it and also helps with breakage and strengthens it. Selling that here and also doing hair has changed my life and I’m glad I chose this path and stayed focused.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been the smoothest but also has not been the bumpiest, but I have hit some bumps along the way! Without my support team, I don’t know if I would have been able to make it this far by myself. From building clientele in my hometown to up and moving to Atlanta trying to figure out how I could network, meet people, build and advertise my business basically from the ground up again, starting over. Being from a small city, and coming to a new big one, was hard, first couple of months, I wanted to lose faith because I didn’t think I was getting the word out, I didn’t think people would allow me to come to a city and take over. I knew once I put myself and my business first, I didn’t have any worries!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an entrepreneur and cosmetologist. I specialize in natural hair and hair growth oil. I’m known for making women and men more beautiful than what already are, let’s just say I enhance they’re natural beauty by they’re hair and also help make it grow. I’m most proud of the journey and how far I came. I came a very long way from no clientele, building clientele, moving to another state, starting over and never losing faith! What sets me apart from others is being myself! It’s no one like me! I’m my own and created my own brand! That’s something no one can take from me.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Absolutely, I listen to podcasts for motivation and guidance. But they all help me process my thoughts and think of better ways to improve my work.
