Check Out Christie Lambert’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Lambert.

Hi Christie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2014, my husband Brian, our daughter Averie, and I traded Macon for the charm of Forsyth—and quickly fell for its friendly faces and small-town magic. A few years later, in 2018, a childhood friend opened a Scoops in Lyons, Georgia, and one visit was all it took—we were hooked (pun very much intended). We couldn’t shake the feeling that Forsyth’s town square was just begging for an old-fashioned ice cream and candy shop. By the end of that year, that sweet little idea turned into reality when we took over the former City Hall building and got to work. Fast forward seven years, and Scoops is still serving up smiles—one scoop at a time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning and renovating a historic building comes with a unique set of challenges, and ours was no exception. Shortly after opening in 2019, we were met with the impact of a global pandemic, followed by ongoing inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, and rising vendor costs. While the road has certainly not been without obstacles, each challenge has presented an opportunity for us to adapt, refine our operations, and make thoughtful decisions. However, at the end of the day, we would’ve never survived without the constant support of our community. The customers we serve day in and day out, our success is because of them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our core, we’re a family that understands hard work—my husband, is an Air Force veteran and engineer with the Department of Defense. I’ve built a successful career for the last 20 years in sales, most recently, cardiovascular medical device sales. Therefore building something meaningful for our community was always the goal. We wanted to create a place in Forsyth where families could gather, slow down, and simply enjoy being together—and truly, there’s nothing else quite like it here. From our hand-dipped ice cream and in-house gourmet chocolates to a candy selection that spans both nostalgic favorites and the latest trending treats, Scoops offers something for everyone. What really sets us apart, though, is the experience: a welcoming, joy-filled space with a complimentary party room and free arcade games that make it just as fun for the grown-ups as it is for the kids. Whether you’re three or ninety-three, Scoops is designed to be a place where memories are made.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Forsyth offers the best of both worlds—a close-knit community with a strong sense of pride, all set in a convenient location. Situated just an hour south of Metro Atlanta and about 20 minutes north of Macon, it combines accessibility with small-town charm. The downtown square is full of character, with great restaurants, unique shops, and beautiful historic homes, while just beyond it you’ll find rolling farmland and scenic countryside. It’s a place that feels both peaceful and vibrant—truly one of Middle Georgia’s hidden gems.
