Check Out Cordell Latham’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cordell Latham.

Hi Cordell, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello VoyageATL!! My name is Cordell Latham & I am the founder & CEO of the events & media company “Echoline.” My goal when I founded Echoline was to provide a platform for the underground musical talent in Atlanta that was being overlooked. We started doing interviews with local artists as well as recording performance content for them as supplemental promotion. In May of 2026 we launched our first recurring live event named “GrooveRoom.” We did 3 iterations of this event & they were very well received. This organic fostering of community had a profound effect on me & made me want to continue throwing events with Echoline going forward. We also will continue to dive into uncharted territory creatively in various different mediums & see where it takes us!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. I have poured blood, sweat & tears into growing this company and have been personally funding every new endeavor we embark on. For “Grooveroom” alone I have had to clean up stranger’s vomit, fill in for a DJ who no-called no-showed his hour long set, stay up all night gathering funds to ensure a successful event & countless other sacrifices that I would do 100x again. The last year and a half of labor has taught me valuable lessons such as maneuvering through ambiguity, effective team management, & staying calm under pressure when things go wrong. I would like to give a special thanks to Team Echo & other company associates who’s help I have greatly appreciated. Shout out to Hansini, Marko, Ny, Ca$h Cam, TK, Yaseen, Roni, Dani, Jesse & Amen (rest in peace).

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a producer, artist, DJ, videographer, creative director, & graphic designer. I have been rapping for 11 years and producing for 5, making music is my passion and 2nd main focus outside of scaling Echoline. I try to build a cohesive cross- platform creative world with each project I release, giving my audience an immersive experience for them to get lost in. For example, each Grooveroom I shot directed & edited curated commercials for pre-event promotion. They were effective in increasing ticket revenue and building our online presence even outside said event. I feel like wearing so many hats does not wear down my efficiency in any one area, rather it gives me multiple different avenues to develop creatively without ever feeling pigeon-holded. If anyone needs beats or a feature hit me up!

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am 100% a risk taker but a calculated one. I weigh out all of my options and if an opportunity has heavier weighted pros than cons than I will not hesitate to move on it. Starting Echoline at all was a risk. I was 20 years old with a self-provided shoe string budget & no team to delegate tasks to. I was slaving, running around doing everything myself trying to make ends meet. I would spend entire months dedicating everyday to throwing/promoting Grooveroom and then immediately use all of the net profit to pay my rent the next week. From the outside looking in I can seem impulsive or unsystematic but I have full confidence in my decision making & I regret none of the moves I’ve made professionally thus far. I will continue to risk it for the biscuit until I am finically free & can provide for the people I love.
