Check Out Josh Snyder’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Snyder

Hi Josh , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Josh Snyder: Biography

Josh Snyder isn’t just making music, he’s building something bigger than himself. As the driving force behind Josh Snyder Music (JSM) alongside Isaac Danford, he leads a collective dedicated to pushing people beyond what they see and into a greater reality.

JSM blends Pop, Hip-Hop, and EDM to create immersive experiences that challenge listeners to consider that this world is not their home (John 17:16). Their music, themes, and live performances all reflect the idea that believers are travelers on a mission, navigating an unfamiliar world while longing for the place they were truly meant to be.

Just as astronauts depend on their suits to survive in space, Christians rely on the Holy Spirit to sustain them. Through music, visuals, and personal connection, JSM is learning how to create an atmosphere that not only entertains but also points people toward surrendering to Christ and the greater mission He has called them to.

Liftoff: The Ascent of JSM

Though still in the early stages of their journey, Josh Snyder Music is steadily gaining traction, expanding their live performances across the United States and into Canada. Each show is an opportunity to refine their craft, connect with audiences, and build momentum toward something greater.

Their work is already being recognized in unexpected places. JSM is currently in the running for “Songwriters of the Year” (for their song My Prayer – That Type of Faith) and “Performing Duo of the Year” at the International Christian Film and Music Festival in Orlando, Florida. While they are still finding their place in the industry, these nominations are a sign of the impact they are beginning to make.

Their live shows go beyond just performing songs, they are atmospheric, immersive experiences, using light, fog, and visual elements to create a setting that feels both otherworldly and deeply personal. However, JSM knows there is still much to learn, and they remain focused on growing, improving, and expanding their reach in the months and years ahead.

Expanding the Mission: More Than Music

Josh’s creative reach goes well beyond music. Every venture, whether in film, digital marketing, or business development, feeds directly into the bigger picture of JSM’s mission.

His involvement in storytelling and film, including projects like ‘My Prayer’, has given him a new way to explore the internal battles between flesh and spirit. Rather than forcing his way into the film industry, Josh is allowing the process to unfold naturally, seeking ways to use visual media to complement the messages in JSM’s music.

At the same time, his work in branding, digital promotion, and business strategy is helping lay the foundation for JSM’s future. Running a graphic design agency and learning how to market effectively in the digital world has allowed JSM to operate more efficiently and reach more people. Even his hands-on experience in freight moving and small business operations has strengthened his ability to navigate the financial and logistical challenges of a growing music ministry.

The Crew: A Mission That’s Bigger Than One Man

Josh has never walked this journey alone. God has surrounded him with a team of like-minded believers, including his music partner, Isaac Danford, who has been a steady co-pilot in this mission. Together, they are figuring out how to turn their calling into a sustainable, impactful movement.

Beyond the music, Josh’s greatest source of encouragement comes from his wife, Auna, and their four children, Alaina, Kieran, Jonathan, and their youngest, Canaan. While his music lifts eyes toward eternity, his family keeps him anchored in daily faithfulness and the simple joys of life.

The Journey Ahead

Josh Snyder Music is still in the early stages of something that has the potential to grow into a lasting movement. The road ahead is full of new music, creative projects, and opportunities to connect with audiences on a deeper level.

But no matter where this journey takes them, the mission remains the same:

To call people to something higher.
To remind them that they were made for more.
To urge them to surrender fully to the God who holds the universe together.

With every song, every project, and every step forward, JSM is learning what it means to truly live as citizens of another world, and inviting others to join them on that journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a music collective from the ground up requires significant resources, equipment, travel, production, promotion, yet Josh has had to figure out how to fund it all without a major label or corporate backing.

At times, finances have been tight. There have been moments when it wasn’t clear how JSM would afford the next tour stop, how they would pay for studio time, or even cover basic living expenses while pursuing music full-time. Instead of taking shortcuts or compromising his mission, Josh has worked tirelessly, taking on extra jobs, running a graphic design business, diving into digital marketing, and even launching a freight-moving company, all to keep the dream alive.

This balancing act has been exhausting, requiring long hours, sleepless nights, and an unwavering commitment to making sure the mission doesn’t just survive but thrives. Yet, through it all, God has provided in unexpected ways, opening doors, sending support at just the right moments, and proving that faithful obedience is always met with provision.

Instead of chasing trends or watering down his message, JSM has stayed true to their mission, even when it meant slower growth. It’s been an uphill battle to secure performance slots, gain industry recognition, and get music in front of the right audiences. At times, it has felt like pushing a boulder uphill, pouring time, energy, and resources into projects with little immediate return.

But rather than waiting for someone to give them a platform, Josh and Isaac have built their own, one performance, one conversation, one song at a time. From nominations at the International Christian Film and Music Festival to expanding shows into Canada, their persistence is beginning to bear fruit.

While pursuing his music ministry, Josh is also a husband and father to four children, Alaina, Kieran, Jonathan, and Canaan. Balancing family responsibilities with the demands of building a music career has been one of the biggest challenges.

There have been times when the weight of providing for his family while chasing a calling has felt impossible, when the pressure to be fully present at home and fully engaged in ministry has pulled him in different directions. The temptation to question whether the sacrifices are worth it has been real.

Yet, Josh has continually sought to keep his family as his first ministry, making sure that no level of success would ever come at the expense of what matters most. His wife, Auna, has been a steady rock of support, and their journey together has been a testimony to God’s faithfulness in the middle of the unknown.

One of the biggest themes in JSM’s music is the daily battle between the flesh and the spirit, and that’s because Josh knows that struggle personally.

There have been seasons of self-doubt, discouragement, and spiritual warfare, where the weight of opposition has been almost suffocating. Moments when the voices of insecurity, fear, and exhaustion have whispered that he should quit, that it’s too hard, that he’s not good enough to make a difference.

Even his short film, My Prayer, wrestles with these themes, showing that the greatest enemy we face is often ourselves. The temptation to retreat, to take an easier road, to let go of the mission, these battles are as real as any financial or logistical obstacle.

But through these struggles, Josh has learned that surrendering daily to God is the only way forward.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The Atlanta area is a world of its own… a vibrant, fast-paced metropolis unlike anything Josh Snyder and his family experienced growing up in the quiet expanse of rural Montana. Their journey to Georgia wasn’t just a relocation; it was the result of a series of supernatural events that made it clear this was where they were meant to be. Adjusting to the relentless traffic and the challenges of city life, including being robbed three times in a single year, came with its struggles, but they have settled in and found purpose in the midst of it. They’ve come to appreciate the energy, the diversity, and the unique culture that make Atlanta unlike anywhere else. More than just a place to live, it has become the mission field where they know they’ve been called to make an impact.
