Today we’d like to introduce you to Larrissa Randolph.
Hi Larrissa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Stone Mountain, Georgia, where I was born and raised. Growing up, I was heavily involved in all-star cheerleading, which taught me discipline, resilience, and how to perform under pressure. At the same time, I was always creative. Long before content creation became my career, I was making videos, putting on performances for my family, and finding ways to express myself through storytelling and entertainment.
While attending Greater Atlanta Christian School, I began documenting my life through YouTube vlogs and TikTok videos. At the time, content creation wasn’t nearly as accepted among my peers. I was often one of the only students walking around with a camera, recording videos, and taking social media seriously.
As a Black female attending a predominantly white high school, I faced challenges that shaped me in ways I couldn’t fully understand at the time. I experienced criticism for creating content and instances of racism that deeply affected me. One moment that stands out was when a student took a photo of my best friend, Jaci Bolden, and me while we were filming a TikTok and circulated it around the school, referring to us as monkeys. It was incredibly hurtful and made me question where I belonged. Throughout it all, Jaci remained one of the few people who consistently supported my dreams and encouraged me to keep going.
During that same period, I took a brief break from all-star cheerleading and joined my school’s basketball team, despite never having played before. I challenged myself to learn a completely new sport, and through early morning practices with my dad, I achieved a personal goal of scoring during the GHSA playoffs while helping my team win a State Championship. That experience taught me how to adapt, trust the process, and stay confident when stepping into unfamiliar situations.
My senior year of high school became one of the most rewarding years of my life. In 2022, I became a World Champion with Stingray Allstars Orange, an accomplishment that remains one of my proudest achievements. Around the same time, my content started gaining traction online. I remember one of my YouTube videos reaching over 20,000 views, and for the first time, people began recognizing me at cheer competitions from my TikTok videos. After years of being told no one cared about my content, I finally started seeing the results of my hard work.
After high school, I attended East Carolina University and made the decision to completely step outside of my comfort zone. I chose a school where I didn’t know anyone from my hometown, hoping to grow independently and build a life for myself.
The transition wasn’t easy. My freshman year was one of the hardest seasons of my life. I struggled with loneliness, homesickness, and friendships that weren’t always healthy or supportive. After experiencing what felt like the highest highs during my senior year of high school, entering college felt like a complete reset. There were many nights filled with tears and uncertainty about where I fit in.
Everything changed during my sophomore year when I made the decision to try out for the ECU Cheer Team. Coach Maddi Lamm took a chance on me and believed in me at a time when I needed it most. Being part of that team helped me rediscover my confidence, find a sense of community, and fall back in love with life again.
That same year, I met Courtney Wilkes, a friend who had a profound impact on my life. Courtney was someone who constantly reminded me of my potential and encouraged me to dream bigger. Between the support of Coach Maddi, Courtney, and my growing confidence, I began to rebuild myself.
Throughout college, I remained committed to creating content. What started as a creative outlet gradually became something much bigger. After graduating, I moved to Miami to pursue content creation full-time.
Today, content creation is my career and primary source of income. I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible brands, attend exclusive events and movie premieres, and build a community around content I’m genuinely passionate about creating.
When I look back, I’m incredibly grateful for the journey. The challenges, setbacks, and moments when people doubted me ultimately taught me how to believe in myself. Every stage of my story—from being a young creator with a camera in high school, to becoming a World Champion, to rebuilding my confidence in college—has shaped the person I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faced was during my freshman year of college. Moving away from home was much harder than I expected. I felt lonely, isolated, and honestly struggled with depression during that time. I didn’t feel like I fit in, and many of the girls around me excluded me, which made the transition even more difficult. There were days when I missed my family so much that I would call home crying and tell my parents I wanted to leave and move back to Atlanta.
At the same time, I was also dealing with people doubting my passion for content creation. I was creating videos before it was widely accepted, and I often faced criticism and judgment from others who didn’t understand what I was trying to build.
Looking back, those experiences became a turning point for me. Being in an environment where I didn’t feel supported taught me the importance of surrounding myself with people who inspire, encourage, and elevate me. Instead of letting those challenges define me, I used them as motivation to work harder, focus on my goals, and create the life I wanted for myself.
Those difficult moments helped shape my independence, resilience, and confidence. They taught me how to keep moving forward even when things feel uncertain, and they played a huge role in helping me become the person I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a full-time content creator specializing in beauty, hair, lifestyle, and fashion content. My goal is to create content that feels authentic, relatable, and inspiring while helping my audience feel more confident in themselves. I share everything from hair tutorials and beauty routines to daily lifestyle content, brand collaborations, travel experiences, and major events.
I think what I’m most known for is being myself online through my hair videos. I’ve always prioritized authenticity over perfection, which has allowed me to build a genuine connection with my audience. I want people to feel like they’re experiencing it with me rather than watching a perfectly curated highlight reel.
One of the things I’m most proud of is turning content creation from a hobby into a full-time career. I started creating content when very few people around me understood what I was trying to accomplish, and there were many moments when it would’ve been easier to quit. Instead, I stayed consistent, continued learning, and trusted the process. Today, I’ve had the opportunity to work with my dream brands like Shark Beauty, Loreal Paris, Shea Moisture and many more.
What sets me apart is my story is everything I’ve built has come from consistency, resilience, and a willingness to keep showing up even when no one was watching. Because of that, I believe my audience trusts me. They know they’re getting real recommendations, real experiences, and someone who genuinely loves creating content.
At the end of the day, I’m proud not only of the opportunities I’ve received but also of the community I’ve built. Being able to inspire others to pursue their goals, believe in themselves, and stay consistent despite obstacles is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always incredibly outgoing, creative, and full of energy. I was the kid who was constantly putting on a show. I would gather all of my cousins together and organize talent shows for our parents, create performances in the living room, and turn any ordinary day into an event. My siblings and I would spend hours making music videos in our basement, setting up lights, playing music, and acting like we were producing a full-scale production. Looking back, it was pretty funny, but it showed how much I loved entertaining people and expressing myself creatively.
I’ve always had a passion for performing and storytelling. Even as a child, I would record videos, put on concerts in my bedroom, and dream about being in the spotlight one day. Long before social media existed the way it does now, my parents would always tell me that I was meant to have a presence in the world. They didn’t know exactly what I would do, but they knew I had a personality that naturally drew people in.
Personality-wise, I’ve always been very goofy, expressive, and optimistic. I loved making people laugh, doing silly accents, and bringing energy into every room I walked into. At the same time, I’ve always been ambitious. Even when I was young, I would tell people that I wanted to do something big with my life. I didn’t know exactly what that looked like, but I knew I wanted to make an impact and pursue something creative.
One of the biggest influences on who I am today is my family. I was fortunate to grow up with incredibly supportive parents, Lorrie Randolph and LaMarr Randolph, who always encouraged me to dream big and believed in me before anyone else did. From a young age, they would tell me that I was going to make an impact in the world and that my creativity and personality would take me far.
I’m also very close with my siblings, Laurren Randolph and LaMarr Randolph. We’re all very close in age, and growing up, we were inseparable. We shared birthdays, created countless memories together, and they were truly my first best friends. Whether we were putting on performances for our family, or just spending time together, those experiences helped shape the confident and creative person I am today.
Having such a strong support system has played a huge role in my journey. Knowing that my family believed in me gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams, even when other people doubted them.
