Check Out Lydia Kennedy’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Kennedy.

Hi Lydia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Three Peas in a Pod began long before it became a book series, YouTube channel, or family brand. Storytelling has always been part of who I am. As a child, I was constantly creating, writing, drawing, dancing, singing, putting on theatre shows, and dreaming of one day becoming both an author and a ballet dancer. One of my earliest inspirations was the parent of a friend who had published a book. I was fascinated by the idea that stories could become something real that others could hold in their hands and enjoy. In Kindergarten, I created my own children’s book and proudly handed it to them, hoping it might somehow find its way into print. Looking back, that moment planted a seed that would continue to grow throughout my life.

Although life took me on many different paths, my passion for storytelling never disappeared. Instead, it evolved and became even more meaningful when I became a mother. Watching my children discover their own creativity has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

My oldest daughter, Liana, began writing and illustrating her own stories in Kindergarten, filling page after page with imaginative adventures and big ideas. Soon after, Alessandra also found her love for storytelling, bringing her unique perspective, creativity, and heart into everything she created. Even my youngest, Krue, found his own special way of contributing with his enthusiasm for “Beep Beeps!” and his playful imagination. Seeing each of my children embrace books, art, and storytelling in their own way reminded me of the same excitement I felt as a child.

That shared love of creativity inspired what would eventually become Three Peas in a Pod. Originally, our family brand began as Two Georgia Peaches, inspired by our adventures and experiences together. When Krue was born, the name naturally evolved to include all three siblings (Liana, Alessandra, and Krue) becoming the “Three Peas in a Pod.”

Like many busy families, we spent countless hours traveling between schools, activities, appointments, and adventures. Our car became a second home, and during those long drives, our imaginations were always at work. Along the way, we discovered the “Lost Land Down Below,” a magical place where toys, snacks, and especially vegetables seemed to disappear without a trace. Those real-life family moments sparked an idea that would grow into our first book, blending humor, imagination, adventure, and meaningful life lessons into a story children and families could enjoy together.

What started as ideas bouncing back and forth during family road trips soon grew into something much bigger. Today, Three Peas in a Pod brings stories to life through children’s books, our YouTube channel, animated content, storytimes, and interactive experiences designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and exploration. Every story we create is rooted in adventure, positivity, imagination, and lessons that children can carry with them long after the story ends.

The book is also an extension of our Three Peas in a Pod “Seeds of Change” YouTube channel, where we bring our adventures to life by exploring new places, trying exciting projects, sharing positive stories, and encouraging learning through creativity and discovery. Beyond storytelling, our mission is to inspire individuals to plant positivity in their own lives. That’s why we created Seeds of Change, a special spotlight series highlighting individuals and organizations making a difference in their communities and beyond. Just like in our book, we believe that “For any negative action, plant a positive reaction.”

What makes Three Peas in a Pod special is that it is built on the belief that stories have the power to inspire, teach, and bring light into a child’s life. We want children to dream big, embrace their creativity, and understand the importance of kindness and compassion. Through our Seeds of Change initiative, we encourage children to see that even small acts of kindness can create meaningful change in the world. Just as a tiny seed can grow into something beautiful, a simple act of generosity can create ripples that reach far beyond what we can see.

Today, I feel incredibly grateful to be living a dream that began with a little girl creating books in Kindergarten. Now, I have the privilege of sharing that journey with my children as we build Three Peas in a Pod together. Knowing that our stories, videos, and message may inspire a child to read, create, dream, or make a difference in someone else’s life is what makes this work so rewarding. Three Peas in a Pod is more than a brand, it’s our way of planting seeds of imagination, kindness, and hope for future generations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every adventure has its challenges and bumps in the road. What is a journey without them?!?
Life is filled with obstacles and challenges, but we learn to overcome them and work through them.
Some of the most meaningful lessons in life are not the ones we plan.
They are the ones we earn.
The setbacks teach resilience.
The failures teach humility.
The unexpected turns teach adaptability. Every one of those experiences becomes part of the story we carry with us.
Not just the polished chapters, but the messy ones too. In fact, those messy chapters are often the ones that give our stories depth. They remind us that growth rarely happens in comfort, it happens when we keep moving forward even when the path feels uncertain. I feel that perhaps, that is why storytelling matters so much. Stories help us make sense of our journey. They allow us to reflect on where we’ve been and imagine where we might go next.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist, creative entrepreneur, author, storyteller, ballet dancer, and actor whose passion has always been bringing ideas to life through creativity. My work spans multiple creative disciplines, including writing, illustration, design, content creation, brand development, television, broadcasting, dance, theatre, and the performing arts. At the heart of everything I do is a love for storytelling and creating meaningful experiences that inspire imagination, connection, and positive impact.

My creative foundation was built through years of professional experience in the arts and entertainment industry. I trained as a ballet dancer with Chicago Ballet Arts, Ballet Chicago, Ruth Page, and Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, where I developed a deep appreciation for discipline, artistry, and storytelling through the movement of dance. I later attended Interlochen Arts Academy, G-Star School of the Arts, and continued my studies in Television and Radio Broadcasting at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, combining my passion for performance with media and communications.

Throughout my career, I have worked in television, radio, film, print, and voice-over. As an on-air personality with Beasley Broadcast Group, I worked with WPOW, WQAM, and WKIS, connecting with audiences through engaging content and live broadcasting. I also reported on South Florida High School Sports and hosted my own television show, Beyond the Sport with Lydia Feliciano. In addition, I have worked professionally in film, television, print, and commercial projects, further strengthening my passion for storytelling across multiple platforms.

Today, I specialize in developing creative projects that blend art, storytelling, education, and entertainment. Through Three Peas in a Pod, I create children’s books, characters, videos, educational content, and interactive experiences that encourage creativity, kindness, learning, and family connection. I enjoy taking an idea from a simple spark of inspiration and transforming it into something that can inspire children and create lasting memories for families.
What I am most proud of is building a brand and creative platform that allows me to share my passion alongside my children. Watching them become part of the creative process and seeing our stories resonate with young readers makes this journey incredibly meaningful. Beyond the books and content we create, I am proud that our work encourages children to dream big, embrace their creativity, and understand the importance of kindness, community, and giving back.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine artistry, performance, storytelling, and purpose. My diverse background in dance, television, broadcasting, acting, design, and entrepreneurship allows me to approach every project from a unique creative perspective. I don’t create simply to entertain, I create to inspire. Every project is rooted in authenticity, imagination, and a desire to make a positive impact. I believe creativity has the power to change lives. My mission is to use my gifts as an artist, storyteller, performer, and creator to inspire others to explore their imagination, pursue their passions, and believe in the possibilities of their own dreams.

What matters most to you? Why?
My family and this planet. They are my lifeline.
