Today we’d like to introduce you to Monte Moore.
Hi Monte, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Friend, I honestly don’t know where to begin. I guess I can start by saying it all started when I was about 14. I was always cutting up clothing and trying to make different things. It lead me to drawing on clothing, and then I started selling custom clothing. By the time I was 15, I discovered my love for rapping. I made my first song when I was 15, really about 8 or 9 with my cousin Elgin. He makes music, and I used to always hang out with him in his studio. Haha, after that it kinda stuck with me. My rap name was Mo$tacks, it was quite embarrassing, but I did have a song that blew up on SoundCloud called “You was right- Freestyle”. Till this day I write music, but I haven’t physically made music in about three years.
That’s it. That’s my very first experience as an entrepreneur. After that, I became a serial entrepreneur, I started all kinds of businesses and discovered many different talents that I have. (Some of which were revealed to me as I got closer to God)
Today, I now own a Fitness and Nutrition business(Fearful Fitness and Nutrition LLC.) It includes meal prep and Personal fitness training. I also own a nonprofit organization. Which is called Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Ministries. I don’t really know how I ended up here, but I did!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has honestly never been a smooth road for me. The circumstances of my life have always caused me to go back and forth from New Orleans to Atlanta. The very first time I came to Atlanta was in 2005, evacuating for Hurricane Katrina.
Since then I’ve been in love with Atlanta. I’ve been here with my grandma since then. But that wasn’t always easy either. My mom always wanted me, and so I was always choosing between the two of them. Never really stayed in one place for a long period of time. I was always moving, and that was the hardest thing.
As I got older, I separated from my family because their lifestyles just wasn’t what I wanted for myself. No, I’m not dissing anyone, but I am entitled to live a life that serves me, not anyone else. My whole life people have tried to control me or tell me what’s best for me; It was only God who gave me strength to say no and stand up for myself.
But it all taught me a lot and made me stronger, wiser, and smarter.
I’m thankful for it all. God has been with me through so much.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I just want to first start by saying I do make music; I haven’t in a while, but soon there will be more. I won’t say much but you know what I mean. I want to share this while I have the opportunity so that everyone can check out my music on SoundCloud or YouTube.
I also design clothing, I am an Artist (draw and paint), I do nails, make wigs, and cook, I also love dancing. I really used to twerk a lot but recently I took an interest in choreography dancing. That’s going pretty well for me!
I specialize in Fitness and Nutrition. I received a Master’s Trainer Degree from Lionel University. As far as my Ministry goes; that is still a work in progress. Things are being put in order. Just recently, I started doing housekeeping and independent contacting CNA as a side job. I am also a substitute teacher.
I am also an Author. I wrote and published two books on Amazon. “A 21 Day Devotional: Discovering who I AM” is my most recent book.
Lastly, I do model from time to time. I haven’t in a very long time. But modeling has actually been #1 on my list for a very long time! One day it’ll happen soon.
It sounds like a lot, and I promise I’m not bragging. I rarely share these things with anyone. Or talk about it.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a fun person. During my elementary days in 4th and 5th grade, I was on the dance team and majorette team. I enjoyed both of them, and they both gave me opportunities to March in parades during Mardi Gras season.
When I moved to Georgia in 6th grade, I ended up joining the cheerleading squad in 7th grade. For an awards ceremony that year I was voted “most school spirit” and “most likely to star in a drama movie” haha. Quite funny actually.
I was always joyful, it was when I got to 7th grade when life took a toll on my emotions. But even then, I was always full of love.
