Check Out Pretty Rico Bandz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pretty Rico Bandz.

Hi Pretty, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been a singer. My whole family does music so I was born into it. Though I was known in Florida as a lead in a boyband called “3AM” I would say my major start was when I joined the cast of the “Disney Channel Rocks” Show. From there leaving to go to Atlanta I got a big break being casted as Puff Daddy in the Hollywood Tupac Biopic “All Eyez On Me” as well as Oxygen’s Snapped Series Notorious Tupac Shakur. Appeared in Fox’s The Resident, Star on Fox as well as many independent movies now on Tubi. All of this while being managed musically by Hip-Hop and Television star “Yung Joc”. In ATL, you can hear me every morning Monday thru Friday as the theme song to Streetz 94.5 Mornin Takeover.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing in this industry is a smooth road. A lot of people think because you’re known means you’re rich. That couldn’t be further from the truth! Being so popular, and struggling to pay rent is a real thing! On top of that it’s always a target on you from people that just live for your misery. They want to see you fall and try their hardest to affect your life. It can hurt but I feel when it’s something you know you are meant to do, it’s nothing you won’t overcome to make it happen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I like to consider myself a man of many talents. I produce a lot of my own music, I write and record most. I also act, dance and I’m sure if I wanted to I could rap lol. But that’s not really my jam though. It’s hard sometimes to think about what you’re proud of because I’m not where I want to be yet, but I am proud to say looking back I’ve done more than a lot of people who are aspiring to be successful and looking up to me. So I’ll accept that as something I’m proud of. I have a lot more work to do though. So stay tuned.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I take risks all the time, the second I feel I’m not in the right place I pack up and move with no plan knowing it’ll work out. I don’t believe in being stagnant. I take musical risks when I theme whole projects that are different from the present era, not trying to fit in with the sound people flock to the most. I take fashion risks every time I put pink in my hair, wear all pink wardrobe knowing some may not get it but it’s not what you wear it’s how confident you wear it. No matter the risk if you believe it enough, everyone will come around eventually.
