Today we’d like to introduce you to SeJames Humphrey.

SeJames, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out as a model and transition into acting in plays and commercials. I started to book a few roles in local films and building my resume. I also began to study the craft and wanted to shoot my own projects. During the pandemic, I stepped out and wrote produced and starred in my own feature film. I came up with a premises and title that I thought was marketable and had an audience. I had a marketing plan to market to target the same audience that liked black films like The Best Man, Two can play that Game, and Boomerang. The name of my film is Nice Guys Finish Last it a rom-com that can see on Tubi, Prime Video and Google Play.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road; in this business, you will get a lot more no’s than you will get yeses. I have auditioned for many of roles. I had the opportunity to audition for the show Sistas by Tyler Perry as a main character. I also got to audition for a main role in the movie One night in Miami. Those were some great opportunities, but I decided to take matters into my own hands and not wait on Hollywood. That is when I came up with the idea of writing, starring, shooting and directing my own feature-length film.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor, writer, director, and producer. I am known for acting and modeling. Now I think I have made a name for myself as a writer director and producer. I have had several celebrities reach out and acknowledge my work and tell me that they see my movie Nice Guys Finish Last on amazon prime and tubi. I am most proud of getting my debut feature-length film shot, completed and into distribution on worldwide platforms. What sets me apart is that I am one of the few Actor writer producers that starred in their own film that featured an all-black cast and crew that funded it all myself.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I am just getting started and this is my debut feature film. I am here to stay, and this will not be my last project. I will just keep building and getting better.
