Today we’d like to introduce you to Siddharth Suman.

Siddharth Suman

Hi Siddharth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Until I was 13, I didn’t really understand why people listened to music; I wasn’t that interested in it. What truly got me into music was being exposed to EDM and listening to artists like Zedd and Avicii for the first time. That experience also motivated me to venture into music production when I was around 14. Many of my current musical influences come from EDM. I spent five or six years producing EDM in my room without releasing any of it. After that, I tried making beats for a year or two, but when that didn’t lead to any significant opportunities, I took a 2-year break from music, feeling like I was getting nowhere. Then, in 2022, I began songwriting. I figured if no one was going to buy my beats, I might as well use them for myself. While I was studying at Georgia Tech, I met Colton Page, my mixing engineer, and that’s when the “Skymist Blue” project was born.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve always struggled with doubting my creations. As a creative and an artist, it’s challenging to be your own biggest critic. Every new song I produce sets a benchmark for how I perceive myself in my music. There are times when I feel I can’t surpass my previous creation. However, I usually end up crafting something I’m incredibly proud of, setting yet another standard. It’s a never-ending cycle, but thankfully, it’s a fulfilling one. Through the process of songwriting and music production, I’ve learned a lot about myself.

I believe I’ve reached a stage where I’m genuinely confident in my musical output. To find any success in the entertainment industry, you need to have a certain level of self-belief that may even seem delusional. You have to trust that your music or creations are as good as, if not better than, those of your peers. After all, if you don’t believe in your own work, why should anyone else? I held onto my first song for six months before releasing it, unsure of how it would be received and afraid of embarrassing myself with a subpar track. However, with time, I’ve evolved to a point where I release songs for my own satisfaction without being overly concerned about garnering attention.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My artist name is Skymist Blue, and I like to see myself as a versatile artist—both a singer-songwriter and producer. I’m dedicated to crafting songs with memorable melodies and relatable lyrics, aiming to evoke emotions in listeners—be it happiness, sadness, nostalgia, or longing. I released my debut song in mid-2022, and since then, I’ve released four additional tracks, each surpassing the last, spanning multiple genres.

Each new song I create becomes my proudest achievement, and I aspire to uphold this trajectory throughout my musical journey. Currently, the song I hold closest to my heart is “VEGAS.” It’s an alt-rock track with pop, country, and EDM elements, chronicling an individual’s descent from a mundane nine-to-five job into the whirlwind of hedonism. I wrote and produced it in a couple of hours, which I’m also very proud of.

What sets me apart is my genuine value for collaboration. While some have declined to work with me due to my perceived online following, I prioritize talent and passion above all. For instance, my close friend and mixing engineer, Colton Page. We connected on Discord because he has no social media presence at all, but after hearing his sample mixes, I asked him to mix my first single, “Constellations”. He’s been indispensable to my musical journey since, and funny enough, he still doesn’t have a social media or beat store.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
To support me and my work be sure to follow me on social media platforms and stream “VEGAS” and my other music (out on all platforms).
