Today we’d like to introduce you to David Greene.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my career in technology over two decades ago with a passion for solving problems and helping organizations operate more effectively through systems, process improvement, and leadership. Early on, I worked my way up through technical support, infrastructure, and enterprise technology leadership roles, eventually leading large-scale IT engineering and operational initiatives for organizations supporting tens of thousands of users across complex environments.
Throughout my career, I realized my strength was never just “technology.” It was understanding how technology, operations, finance, people, and strategy all connect together to help organizations move forward. That perspective led me into executive leadership roles where I focused on automation, AI adoption, cybersecurity, governance, cloud transformation, operational scalability, and building high-performing teams.
At the same time, I pursued entrepreneurship and co-founded SchoolBanks, a SaaS platform designed to help K–12 schools better manage financial obligations, assets, payments, and operational workflows. Building SchoolBanks deepened my understanding of product strategy, customer engagement, software development, and the real operational challenges schools and businesses face every day.
Outside of business, I’m passionate about leadership, faith, mentorship, and helping people align purpose with execution. I’ve also started building a stronger personal brand around technology leadership, operational transformation, entrepreneurship, and using AI to create meaningful impact in organizations and communities.
Today, I’m focused on opportunities where I can combine executive technology leadership, product strategy, operational excellence, and innovation to help organizations grow, modernize, and solve meaningful problems.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and honestly, many of the lessons that shaped me came through adversity, setbacks, and high-pressure situations.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal responsibility all at the same time. I’ve spent years helping organizations scale technology and operations while also building my own companies and ideas outside of my corporate roles. That meant long nights, financial risks, uncertainty, and learning how to lead even when outcomes were not guaranteed.
Another challenge has been navigating environments where innovation moves slower than the problems organizations are facing. Many times, I’ve had to push through resistance to change, disconnected systems, operational inefficiencies, and teams that were overwhelmed by reactive work. Learning how to influence people, simplify complexity, and create alignment became just as important as the technology itself.
Entrepreneurship has also humbled me. Building a SaaS company in the K–12 space taught me that having a great solution is only part of the battle. Sales cycles are long, trust must be earned, and resilience matters more than excitement. I’ve invested significant personal time, money, and energy into building solutions I truly believe can help organizations operate better.
Most recently, I’ve also had to navigate career transitions and uncertainty while continuing to provide for my family, lead with faith, and stay focused on long-term goals. Those experiences strengthened my perspective, discipline, and ability to adapt under pressure.
Looking back, the obstacles taught me how to remain steady, lead through uncertainty, build with purpose, and continue moving forward even when the path was unclear.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
SchoolBanks, Inc. is a K–12 focused SaaS company built to help schools and districts simplify the operational side of education. Our platform connects financial obligations, asset management, online payments, and operational workflows into one centralized system designed specifically for the unique challenges schools face every day.
What makes SchoolBanks different is that we approach school operations from both a technology and business operations perspective. Many schools still manage critical processes across disconnected spreadsheets, paper forms, legacy systems, and manual workflows. We built SchoolBanks to bridge those gaps by improving accountability, visibility, audit readiness, and operational efficiency for administrators, finance teams, staff, students, and families.
We specialize in areas such as fee management, student obligations, asset tracking, online payments, reporting, and operational workflow automation. Our long-term vision is to create a more connected operational ecosystem for K–12 education where finance, operations, and accountability work together seamlessly instead of existing in silos.
One thing I am especially proud of is that SchoolBanks was not built from theory — it was built from listening directly to schools and understanding the real frustrations administrators, bookkeepers, and staff deal with daily. We focus heavily on trust, usability, operational transparency, and building solutions that truly solve problems instead of simply adding more software complexity.
Beyond the platform itself, I’m proud that SchoolBanks represents resilience, innovation, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. It reflects years of experience in enterprise technology leadership combined with a genuine desire to help educational organizations operate more effectively while better serving students and families.
What makes you happy?
My relationship with God is what brings me the greatest joy and peace in life. It gives me purpose, perspective, and strength through both success and adversity. My faith helps ground me and reminds me that leadership, business, and accomplishments all mean very little if they are not connected to something greater than yourself.
Seeing my family happy also brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. Some of my happiest moments are simply watching my wife and children smile, grow, succeed, and enjoy life together. Providing stability, guidance, and opportunities for my family is one of the biggest motivations behind everything I do professionally and personally.
I also find happiness in building things that create meaningful impact — whether that’s helping organizations solve difficult problems, mentoring others, creating technology solutions, or encouraging people through leadership and conversation. For me, joy often comes from purpose, growth, service, and seeing others benefit from the work I’ve been called to do.
