Community Highlights: Meet Jordan Richardson of Kovi Entertainment Universe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Richardson.

Jordan , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born Alvin Jordan Richardson on the island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, Jay Gervara is a freelance writer, creator, actor, voice actor, and entrepreneur whose journey is defined by resilience, creativity, and perseverance.

Long before building worlds and creating stories, Jay faced some of life’s toughest challenges. During a difficult period in Atlanta, Georgia, he experienced homelessness, sleeping in his car while refusing to give up on his dreams. Instead of allowing hardship to define him, he used it as fuel to create something greater.

Jay is the founder of Kovi Entertainment Universe (KEU), an independent comic book and multimedia company dedicated to creating original heroes, worlds, and stories. Among his most notable creations is *Olu: The Punished Fox*, a flagship series that reflects themes of redemption, leadership, sacrifice, and perseverance.

As a writer, Jay has collaborated with acclaimed independent author Milton Davis, further establishing himself within the independent creative community. His work continues to span comics, screenwriting, storytelling, and original intellectual properties designed to inspire audiences around the world.

In addition to writing, Jay is an actor and voice actor who has trained under respected instructors Dwayne Boyd, Robert Mello, and voice actor David Price. His dedication to performance allows him to bring authenticity and depth to every character he portrays both on screen and behind the microphone.

A major part of Jay’s journey has been the support of his brothers-in-arms known as the Ocean Krew: Vagabondo, Dameion, and Damatrix. Together they built more than a team they built a family. Through faith, loyalty, and determination, they supported one another through difficult seasons and celebrated victories together. Their entrepreneurial spirit even led them to launch their own coffee company, Ocean View Coffee, turning ideas into reality through hard work and belief.

Jay remains deeply grateful to the Ocean Krew for standing beside him when circumstances were uncertain and resources were limited. When he was homeless and fighting to keep his vision alive, they believed in him. Today, that same brotherhood has helped create projects and content available across multiple streaming platforms, proving that perseverance and teamwork can transform dreams into accomplishments.

Jay Gervara’s story is not simply about success. It is about refusing to quit when quitting would have been easier. It is about building opportunity when none existed. Most importantly, it is about remembering the people who stood beside you during the storm.

His journey continues with the same belief that carried him from a car in Atlanta to a growing creative universe:

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Homelessness, alone in this city with no family, work ing 2 full time jobs to take of myself and fund my dreams.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
It’s an independent comic book company. I’m a writer and creator. I’m known for my unique approach towards comics. I bring my culture to my stories in a way only I can. What’s sets me apart is that I’m relentless and I’m a man of my word. I’m proud that my brand is available worldwide. If you have a cell phone, laptop or desktop my comics are available to you. I want you all to know that I’m never going to be outworked or stopped from my goals. My brand is unique to where I’m originally from, so that makes me unique and rare in itself. What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
That no one is responsible for your success but you. You have to take that step forward, you have to be able to ask questions and accept help. You can’t do it alone. You have to need it like you need air
