Community Highlights: Meet Kimberly Solomon of Solomon’s Esthetique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Solomon.

Hi Kimberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

Kimberly is a Skincare Therapist, Author and Esthetician with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of the skincare industry. Kimberly began her professional career by training at the prestigious Aveda Institute of Tampa Bay. With knowledge and experience as a SkinCare Full Specialist. She is also a licensed Body Wrapper, certified Body Sculptor, certified lash tech and certified wax tech. My story is unique because I’ve always been interested in the beauty industry. When I graduated from high school in 1998, I wanted to go to nail school and open my own business. My father who was an Entrepreneur and Wealth Investor, told me that doing nails was not a real career. I loved my father and trusted his judgment so I went to college. College was not the best choice. I left after two years and joined the Air Force. Twenty-one years later, I’m still in the military and finally pursuing my dreams of owning my own spa. In 2018, I opened Solomon’s Esthetique and it’s been a great ride. The road wasn’t easy but we didn’t quit. I’m a mother of 8 children. 4 boys and four girls. Growing up my mom was a single parent and I saw her struggle. I realized that I didn’t want my children to struggle and I wanted to leave a legacy for them. It wasn’t an easy road, but it’s all been worth it. I found myself in many highs and many lows. As a young woman, I was chasing love in all of the wrong places and I found myself stripping and prosituting my body just to make ends meet. I found myself in relationships that were going nowhere because I didn’t know who I was on the inside and the greatness inside of me. Once I realized who I was, I knew that I couldn’t look back. So now, many years later, with awards, magazine articles and accolades to my name, I give God the praise. I’m just thankful for all that I’ve accomplished in my life that I spread that knowledge and wealth with girls all over the world. My mentoring organization, Intentional Women, is continuing to bless young girls and women on a daily basis. So being a best-selling author, CEO, speaker and educator is all worth it. I’m just blessed to be a blessing to others!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?

It has not been a smooth road. I just told you most of it in the previous text. Parents divorced at two years old ( I would sit on the porch for hours waiting for my Dad to pick me up and he never came) Sexually abused at seven years old Virginity taken at 12 years old Stripped and prostituted – 17-20 years old Joined the military at 20 years old First child at 22 years old Second child at 27 Diagnosed with cervical cancer and told I couldn’t have any more children – had three more) Married at 32 (3 bonus children from marriage) the third child at 33 caregivers for my mother in my home for five years the fourth child at 36 The fifth child at 37 Opened Spa at 38 Received awards, magazine articles, radio interviews)

We’ve been impressed with Solomon’s Esthetique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Our business is an Enhanced Wellness Spa. It’s called Solomon’s Esthetique. I specialize in 24kt Gold Facials, Body Contouring/Body Wrapping, Vaginal Steaming and Wellness classes. We take care of the total woman. We are known for our Vaginal Steaming and Steam parties. Our parties are mobile and at our spa. Each month we give back to a different set of careers in the community. We typically service all women but we cater to the working woman and the woman that needs to focus on self-care. I am most proud of the mark that we are leaving on the lives of women that use our products. It’s not just a local reach but we strive to reach women all over the world. Through our classes and trainings, we reach everyone. I also had the opportunity this year to speak at Skin Inc Conference and Bonner Bros in Atlanta. I love educating and training. Our services are affordable but we don’t skip on the luxury. Every experience is personalized and customized to each client.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?

I see the industry continuing to grow by leaps and bounds. Beauty is already a 49.2 billion dollar industry. Our business is a “little peace of Heaven” on earth in this industry. We want to reach as many people as we can through digital consulting and in-person sessions that are life-changing.
