Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Johnson.
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Lauren Johnson, and I’m the founder and creative director of Bellisima Fiore, a floral design company based in Atlanta specializing in weddings, events, and elevated floral experiences.
My journey into floristry honestly came from a mix of creativity, storytelling, and entrepreneurship. I’ve always loved design, branding, and creating experiences that make people feel something emotionally. Over time, flowers became the medium that connected all of those passions together. What started as a creative interest slowly evolved into a business and eventually into a brand with a bigger vision behind it.
Building Bellisima Fiore has taught me so much about resilience, leadership, and what it really means to grow something from the ground up. I’ve had seasons where I was wearing every hat: floral designer, marketer, sales lead, delivery driver, content creator, while learning the operational and financial side of running a business in the luxury events industry. Those experiences shaped me not only as a floral designer, but as a founder.
Today, Bellisima Fiore has had the opportunity to collaborate on weddings, events, community experiences, and floral installations throughout Atlanta. I’ve also been able to expand my interests into branding, economics, business strategy, and building long-term partnerships that align with the future vision of the brand.
At the core of everything I do is the desire to create beauty, meaningful experiences, and a brand that leaves a lasting impression on people. I’m still growing, still learning, and still building but I’m incredibly grateful for the journey so far and excited for where it’s headed next.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One thing entrepreneurship has taught me is that growth is rarely a perfectly smooth road, especially when you’re building something creative from the ground up.
There have definitely been challenges along the way. In the early stages, I was balancing multiple roles at once while trying to establish Bellisima Fiore as a competitive brand in a highly competitive industry. I was learning how to manage operations, client relationships, logistics, pricing, marketing, and creative execution all at the same time. The events industry also moves very fast, so there’s constant pressure to adapt, problem-solve, and deliver at a high level consistently.
Another challenge has been learning how to transition from being just a creative into becoming a true business owner and leader. Creativity is one part of the equation, but building a sustainable company requires strategy, structure, financial discipline, and resilience. There have been moments where I’ve had to make difficult decisions, navigate setbacks, and reassess partnerships or business directions in order to protect the long-term vision of the company.
At the same time, those challenges have honestly shaped me the most. They pushed me to become stronger, more intentional, and more focused on building Bellisima Fiore on a solid foundation rather than chasing quick success. Every obstacle has taught me something valuable about leadership, communication, and perseverance.
I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that entrepreneurship is less about perfection and more about consistency, adaptability, and continuing to move forward even when things are uncertain. Looking back, I’m grateful for both the wins and the difficult seasons because they’ve all played a role in helping me grow personally and professionally.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bellisima Fiore. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Bellisima Fiore is a floral design company based in Atlanta specializing in weddings, events, installations, and elevated floral experiences. At its core, the brand is about more than flowers it’s about storytelling, beauty and creating environments that leave a lasting impression.
What sets Bellisima Fiore apart is the combination of creative direction, branding, and emotional storytelling. I approach floral design not only as a florist, but as a founder and creative strategist who understands how visuals, atmosphere, and experience all work together. I care deeply about how people feel when they walk into a space or receive one of our arrangements.
Another thing that makes our company unique is our versatility. We’ve had the opportunity to work across weddings, luxury events, community experiences, creative collaborations, and large-scale floral installations. That diversity has allowed us to evolve into a multifaceted creative brand rather than simply a traditional flower business.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the fact that Bellisima Fiore has continued to grow with intention while maintaining a strong identity rooted in elegance, creativity, and authenticity. Building a brand from the ground up takes resilience, consistency, and vision, and I’m proud that people are beginning to recognize our work for its style, emotion, and attention to detail.
I also want readers to know that Bellisima Fiore is still growing and evolving. We have exciting plans for expansion, creative partnerships, luxury experiences, and continued innovation within the floral and events space. My goal has always been to build a brand that feels timeless and memorable not just in Atlanta, but eventually on a larger national and international scale.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think entrepreneurship naturally requires a certain level of risk-taking because you’re choosing to build something without guaranteed outcomes. In many ways, starting Bellisima Fiore itself was a major risk. I stepped into an industry that is highly competitive, fast-paced, and emotionally demanding while trying to build a luxury brand from the ground up. There’s no perfect roadmap for that especially as a creative founder learning both the artistic and business side simultaneously.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken has been continuing to invest in the long-term vision of the company even during uncertain seasons. That includes investing time, resources, branding, networking, collaborations, and opportunities before seeing immediate returns. Entrepreneurship often requires believing in where you’re going before the results fully catch up.
I’ve also taken risks by putting myself in rooms and opportunities that challenged me creatively and professionally, from luxury event collaborations to expanding into larger-scale floral installations and strategic business conversations. Those experiences pushed me outside of my comfort zone, but they also accelerated my growth as a founder and creative director.
At the same time, I don’t believe risk-taking should be reckless. I think there’s a difference between impulsive decisions and calculated risks rooted in vision, preparation, and adaptability. Over time, I’ve learned to approach risk more strategically by asking: Does this align with the long-term direction of the brand? Does it create growth, opportunity, or valuable experience? What can I learn from this even if it doesn’t go perfectly?
Some risks work out exactly as planned, and others teach you lessons you couldn’t have learned any other way. I think both outcomes are valuable. For me, risk is less about chasing something dramatic and more about having the courage to evolve, trust your vision, and continue moving forward despite uncertainty.
Ultimately, I believe growth and comfort rarely exist in the same place. Many of the opportunities that shaped Bellisima Fiore came from moments where I chose to take a chance on myself, my creativity, and the future I’m trying to build.
