Community Highlights: Meet Thomas Smith of Psi-Borg Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Smith.

Hi Thomas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am Thomas J Smith, an aspiring model and actor. I enjoy modeling everything from fashion to fitness to commercial and editorial campaign. Modeling, for me, is a way to tell stories without words, a means to express visually what may not be spoken or written. As a child, I always collected magazines to study covers, campaigns, fashion shows. My love for fashion and visual art have continued to drive my desire to be a supermodel and actor. Since 18 years old, this journey has been full of adventure. I have traveled and shot with many different amazing photographers, who have positively shaped my career. I have worked as a model/brand ambassador for events such as Atlanta pride and Miami Sizzle. I’ve been featured in Apeel magazine, as well. My current portfolio, Iamthomasjsmith.com, shows my diversity as a model. I have more goals to hit in my modeling career and I feel like I am just getting started. I have an optimistic and adventurous personality. My aesthetic is athletic and urban. Every year, I put my focus into being better than the year before. There is always room to grow and the grind will never stop. Now that I find myself in Atlanta, GA… only opportunities that awaits.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career has not been an overnight success. The struggles I’ve faced throughout my career have made me better so I do not regret the “No’s.” I have been told “no” several times but I continue to keep going. One story I like to share with people is when I went too NYC to sit down with an agency. I was super excited to be there but I just didn’t have the look they were looking for, which broke my heart. The journey is tough but when I arrive at my destination, I will appreciate it even more.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own Psi-Borg Fitness, an E-commerce store. I sale fitness apparel and gym equipment. I want my customers to have all the tools they need to have a complete workout. I always had a passion for fitness and working out. Although I am not a certified trainer, I’ve always wanted fitness to be a part of my life. I decided to do is open a fitness store and be a model for my own company. Can you talk about how you think about risk?
If you want to be successful, you have to take risks. At age 21, I decided to move from Tampa, Florida, my hometown. I did not want to regret not pursuing my modeling career. Since leaving home, I have been traveling for my career. I am a risk-taker and ever since I made the decision to leave home, I have lived life to the fullest experience.
