Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Mitchell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up with severe asthma at a young age, I experienced firsthand how healing and caregiving can impact someone’s life. My mom, who was both a nurse and massage therapist, would massage me to help me relax during difficult moments and eventually started teaching me techniques herself. Healing, nurturing, and caregiving have always been a part of my family and how I was raised.
I started practicing on friends and family, and over time realized I had a gift for helping people relax and feel safe. I would massage my friends all the time, and people would tell me I should start charging because of how naturally I helped them feel better. That encouragement eventually led me to start my own business at 21.
Currently, I work overnight while also building my wellness business because I know my purpose is bigger than just one path. Through massage, energy healing, and wellness practices, I’ve realized I’m most fulfilled when I’m creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and able to reconnect with themselves.
Today, my passion is helping people put their mind, body, and soul at ease. I always joke that I’m the queen of relaxation because helping people feel peace comes naturally to me. Right now, I’m in a season of growth—learning, networking, and expanding my skills while staying true to my mission of creating healing experiences that feel genuine, transformative, and accessible for others. I believe I’m here to be a safe space for people while continuing to walk fully in my purpose
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing building my healing business while working overnight shifts full-time. There were times when I experienced burnout, self-doubt, and periods where I had to step back and reconnect with why I started. I also faced physical setbacks after injuries that forced me to slow down and focus on healing myself while still helping others heal. Learning how to manage my time, protect my energy, and stay consistent through difficult seasons has been one of my biggest growth experiences.”
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a massage therapist, Reiki practitioner, and healer focused on helping people reconnect with their mind, body, and spirit through intentional bodywork and healing experiences. Healing has been part of my life since childhood — I grew up with severe asthma, and my mom, who was both a nurse and massage therapist, would massage me to help me relax and breathe easier. She taught me techniques early on, and I quickly realized I had a gift for helping people feel safe, calm, and cared for.
I officially started my business at 21 because I genuinely love helping people heal and feel better. I specialize in relaxation-based bodywork, stress relief, stretching, and creating experiences that leave people feeling grounded and restored. I especially enjoy working with athletes, busy individuals, and older adults who need relief, recovery, and care.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on physical tension — I focus on energy, emotional wellbeing, and creating a space where people feel seen, safe, and supported. I’m most proud of building my healing business from passion and purpose while continuing to grow into the wellness leader I know I’m becoming.”
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice for those just starting out is to trust your journey and don’t wait until you feel perfect to begin. I started learning massage techniques as a child from my mom, who was a nurse and masseuse, and over time I realized healing and caregiving were naturally a part of me. One thing I wish I knew earlier is that growth isn’t always linear—you’re going to doubt yourself, compare yourself, and have moments where you feel like an imposter. Keep going anyway. Focus on serving people genuinely, continue learning, protect your energy, and remember that authenticity will take you further than trying to fit into what you think people want.”
