Conversations with Beejay Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beejay Jones.

Hi Beejay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Beejay Jones, and I’m a hip-hop artist from New York. I started making music about nine years ago as a way to express myself and tell my story. What began as a passion quickly turned into something I wanted to take seriously. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours writing, recording, performing, and developing my sound, always focused on becoming a better artist and creating music that people can genuinely connect with.

That dedication has opened doors and helped me grow as an artist. I was fortunate enough to finish as a runner-up in Superstar Sunday and had the opportunity to open for Stalley of MMG, which was a major milestone in my journey. I’ve also independently released music that has reached thousands of listeners on Spotify, with multiple songs surpassing 1,000 streams. Today, I’m continuing to build my catalog, expand my audience, and stay true to who I am through my music. Every experience—both the wins and the setbacks—has shaped my journey, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward and sharing my story with the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road balancing my craft ,work and family has been a wild ride but I wouldn’t have it any other way. No regrets only lessons

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hip-hop artist from New York who has spent the last several years developing my craft and building my name through live performances, songwriting, and consistent releases. My music is heavily driven by witty punchlines, clever wordplay, and strong lyricism. I take pride in creating records that not only sound good but also give listeners something to catch on the second and third listen. Flow, delivery, and attention to detail are a big part of my style, and I’m always looking for ways to push my pen further with every track.

Some of the accomplishments I’m most proud of include finishing as the runner-up in the Superstar Showcase competition and sharing the stage with established artists such as Stalley of MMG. Those experiences reinforced my belief that hard work and persistence pay off. What sets me apart is my ability to blend sharp lyricism with versatility, allowing me to create music that appeals to both hip-hop purists and everyday listeners. I’m committed to staying authentic, continuing to grow as an artist, and representing where I come from through every verse I write.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Never stop even through the darkest of times when everything feels like it’s going wrong go right to that pen and pad and express yourself someone out there is gonna feel your pain and love for the craft
