Conversations with Francene White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francene White.

Hi Francene, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Perfect Blend Urban Creamery was born from a desire to create something that truly blended my love for Atlanta culture and great food. I’ve always been drawn to businesses that bring people together, and ice cream has this unique, almost magical way of doing exactly that.
I wanted to build a brand rooted in the Southern, nostalgic flavors so many of us grew up on, with Atlanta culture woven into the DNA of everything we do. As I started exploring the dessert space, I noticed a gap, an opportunity to create an elevated dairy-free experience that didn’t feel like a sacrifice or a second choice.

What started as an idea quickly turned into countless late nights of recipe testing, research, and refining my vision until it felt right. In June 2025, Perfect Blend Urban Creamery officially came to life, bringing clean ingredient, handcrafted, dairy-free, vegan-friendly ice cream inspired by the culture and the flavors that make Atlanta special.

Today, we’re out here serving the community through pop-ups, local farmers markets in Alpharetta and Dunwoody, a Westside Beltline pick-up window, private events, and local partnerships, and we’re just getting started! One scoop at a time. 🍦✨

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Thankfully, it hasn’t been an especially rocky road. There have certainly been challenges, but nothing that felt beyond my ability to work through. Honestly, the biggest obstacle has been myself.

In my everyday life I’m incredibly focused on quality and results. Apply those same characteristics to your day-day operations while being a first-time entrepreneur and BOOM, you’ve successfully turned something light and fun, into an obsession for perfection. I hold myself to a very high standard, and that can sometimes make it difficult to appreciate the journey. Even with overwhelmingly positive feedback, I found myself dealing with imposter syndrome during the early months of building the business.

Over time, I’ve learned to quiet that inner critic and trust the work I’ve put in. Today, I stay focused on continuing to create what I believe is some of the best dairy-free ice cream in Metro Atlanta while enjoying the journey a little more along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My mission is to create a culture-driven ice cream brand that’s built with intention — one where being dairy-free, preservative-free, and made without artificial sweeteners or unnecessary additives isn’t a feature, it’s just how we do things. Crafted for people who want to snack smarter but refuse to compromise on quality and flavor to do so. By avoiding the use of milk as the base for our ice cream, we greatly reduce negative reactions experienced by those with dietary restrictions, allergens and GI sensitivities. It’s quite literally ice cream for everyone! Unless you’re allergic to coconuts, then oopsie (we may be working on another non-dairy ice cream base in the near future).

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Creating makes me happy.
Watching people take that first bite and genuinely enjoy my ice cream makes me happy.
Knowing that I’m offering a dairy-free alternative to one of the world’s favorite desserts, and hearing from people who have been looking for a more mindful approach to the way they snack individually and for their families makes it all worthwhile.

Bringing intentionality to one of my favorite desserts and creating an experience that everyone can enjoy makes me proud.
