Conversations with Kenneth Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Graham.

Hi Kenneth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started with photography by just randomly choosing a photography elective. I definitely just had to pick something to graduate smoothly and I was just using my iPhone SE to do all of my assignments and I grew a fondness for it. My main path at the time was engineering, so I went to Georgia Southern with the first plan of becoming a mechanical engineer. I flunked that first semester and my only idea of actually making something happen was photography, so I switched majors. I was then pulled out because I didn’t prove to my people that I could handle business that young( I was freshly 18 years old) and being so far from home. When I got back home, I just was going from lane to lane to try to find something that I could do to make money, not even to find something I want to do. Right after that, COVID happened, which led to the ability of making something happen limited and I was already limited by being only showed academics and sports. Sports, being football, wasn’t pursued due to me getting a concussion in practice. Back to the main plot, I received a Canon T6 to pursue my love for photography even more and I loved it. But there was a gap of a couple of years in which I did not touch it because I genuinely did not believe in it anymore. It was not until September 2023 when I literally just made up my mind, no prior thoughts about it, dusted off my camera bag and took pictures for the first time which sparked the flame of passion within my spirit. I was rocking for a couple of months and in March 2024, I got rear ended in the rain full force while I was stopped at a red light. After all of the therapy and getting back on my feet, I invested FULLY into my love for a camera, bought a Sony A9 (Hindsight: Would’ve bought a A7R3 and spread out my money), 2 lenses with f2.8 capability and since then, doing my best to get better, working events, fashion shows, portraits, concept shoots, and I definitely plan to do more and expand my portfolio. I can’t wait to start showing my videography skills to start matching my photography level. I got to where I am today because I kept the unwavering belief in the fact I will be the best cameraman in the world. Shoutout Cam Kirk, but I will catch up to him very soon, sooner than you guys realize.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely was no where near a smooth road. It also hasn’t been smooth filling this out because I was not expecting multiple questions but reading is fundamental. Some struggles were just getting known. It honestly does not matter how good I am if nobody knows who I am and the services I provide. I built up my page from 0 to 1400 last year and then I got hacked. I met some very well known people and built a connection with them. So, losing those connections hurt, mainly due to social media being how it is, when they have that many people dming them, my brand new page isn’t cracking that veil. But, glory to the most high, I am back even above 1600 and we will continue to grow.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional cameraman, with skillsets in photography and videography. I specialize in photography and I am most proud of my event photography. I know what sets me apart is that I step to make sure what ever I am apart of is properly captured. No shade to any cameraman/woman but a hit dog will holler: I notice that some will just show up and shoot. I see how I am the only one asking questions, I go to the other cameras and ask them, which they respond with absolutely no helpful information and/or I am just going to shoot in this area, but not shots the client needs. I do know I need to build my portfolio, but I am more about building relationships and committing to the fact that what I am apart of is finished fully and coherently.

What matters most to you? Why?
The only thing that truly matters is me reaching the pinnacle of cameramen. I believe my lanes will concise of fitness, health and cars once I am done building my name. I do like fashion shows and the creativity of designers. But I love the camera with ever fiber of my being and I will do anything to get better and more successful with it. I also plan to travel with it because I plan to show the world my POV, hence my IG name “povfromthecave”. But I do still need to be paid, so definitely hit my instagram and let’s work or even bartering.
