Conversations with Lenise Leknes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lenise Leknes.

Hi Lenise, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My earliest memory of cooking is at 4 years old with a chair pulled up to the kitchen stove with my Aunt. The desire to be a chef was birthed. Skipping ahead, I graduated from Johnshon & Wales University with my pastry arts degree. After 18 years in and out of the industry, I eventually was afforded the opportunity to open my own bakery. Treats With Lenise is a faith based bakery sharing bits of treats with all who love to eat.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! When you are building a brand, many road blocks will come. But with faith, discipline and the keen eye for pivoting… we made it through!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a pastry chef who blends artistry, technique, and passion to craft classic desserts and visually stunning presentations. My work is not just about baking. It’s sharing my signature kitchen creations with others. Our bakery specializes in custom cakes, french & latin pastries, and community classes.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Determination. When I hit a brick wall, I look at how to tear it down with grace and grit.
