Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisbeth Taylor.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m originally from Miami Florida, born and raised. My family moved us to Atlanta when I was a teenager and it’s the best decision that they could have made. Living here has inspired me in so many ways. The love of fashion and creative expression has basically been a part of me since I was a child. It’s funny that I now am a photographer because it wasn’t even anything in the realm of what I thought I would being doing.
I have a degree in Fashion Design and completed my education in Miami, Florida with a certification in Multi-Media Makeup. I have worked in different aspects of the fashion industry from designing, retail management, working behind the scenes at fashion shows, styling and being a small shop owner.
When I became a mother, I knew that I wanted to work from home. I started my photography journey by taking pictures of my daughter. It was something that started just as a hobby and eventually led me to where I am at today. I slowly started to grow my business and expanded as a family photographer which eventually led me to working with brands.
As a Content Creator, I have been able to tie in all that I have learned while working in the fashion industry as well as what I have learned from motherhood.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path has definitely had its ups and downs. I have always known that I wanted to work in Fashion. After finishing my internship with Rene Sanning, Designer and owner of Rene Rene Boutique, I knew that having my own shop was what I needed to pursue. Even though I’m not there yet, I know that I’m learning so much by working with brands and I know that I will bring that experience with me when the time comes.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently a full-time Content Creator. My main focus is inspiring mothers to find the beauty in the everyday. I’m known for sharing mother/daughter fashion especially matching outfits. It’s my favorite content to share. I have also geared my focus to sharing our homeschooling journey this past year. I have been able to make lots of connections with other families that are homeschooling as well. What sets me apart is my retro style and how the inspiration of nature always shows through in my photography.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes, oh how I love to read! My favorite book that I recommended to any creative is Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I loved reading about her experiences of pursuing a creative career and conquering that fear that comes with just letting go and finding that joy of creativity. My next recommendation would be Imagine Big by Terri Savelle Foy. This book has inspired me to keep following my dreams and learning to appreciate all that comes with living it all out. Lastly, the book The Call of the Wild + Free by Ainsley Arment has truly inspired my homeschooling and has helped me to find that wonder, slowness and beauty that comes with the journey.
As for apps, I like Prequel for editing photos and videos. It’s especially great for creating that retro look. Canva is amazing for just about anything! I also like Picsart for adding all the fun edits to my photography. Currently, my favorite podcast for all things Content Creation has to be Soulcial Scoop with Kristen Bousquet.
