Conversations with Lissete Vega-Barbosa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lissete Vega-Barbosa.

Hi Lissete, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started by doing hair and makeup for family and friends, but mainly my mom.. she would always ask me to do her hair and makeup for events. She likes her glam a specific way which is where I learned to do what we call now “soft glam”. I started freelancing makeup and hair about 10 years ago now, but since I became a mom of 3 I took several breaks in between. I started back up about 2 years ago now where I have been doing what I love more consistently.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been challenging juggling everything and adjusting to the changes as they come with home and work. There has been many times I wanted to just give up or I undervalued my work & talent, but God kept showing me that this is what he wanted me doing, to trust him in the process.. and he has been faithful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a hair and makeup artist that specializes in Bridal and Quinceañeras but also do glam for social events and photoshoots. I have been known for the Soft Glam makeup look and Hollywood waves. I am proud of how far I have come over the years and all the wonderful people I have met that continue to be loyal clients and that most of my clients are from recommendations or word of mouth. That is the biggest compliment to any artist!
