Conversations with Paola Miranda-Pizzi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Miranda-Pizzi.

Hi Paola, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been singing and around music all my life. I officially began my journey in elementary school when I was recruited for “El Coro de Ninos de San Juan” in Puerto Rico, but I have been dancing, singing, and putting on shows for my family since even before that. I continued my journey in the States, with school choirs and theatre. I realized around middle school that I wanted to purse this professionally and began writing music. I have been writing ever since, with some being released for streaming in the recent years.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is ever a smooth road, and if it is, it’s not worth it. This business requires a lot of thick skin, perseverance, and tenacity, that can sometimes be difficult to come by. The biggest struggle for myself right now is that internet reach. Creating great content and interesting posts can be a full-time job but is the best outcome for reaching my audience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer-songwriter and performer in the Atlanta area. I write all my own music but have collaborated with other artists in writing for them and performing some of their music. I have been told my melodies, and my writing are interesting and unique and differ themselves from the cookie-cutter music nowadays. I write from experiences and from emotions most of us have encountered and can relate to, so there is something in my writing for everyone. I am most proud of being able to put my feelings on paper when sometimes I can’t form the words to speak it.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
What has worked the best for me is using my network. My circle of friends has been in this industry for a long time, and they are the best at giving me advice and helping with projects. They put as much effort and hard work into my endeavors as they do into theirs.
