Today we’d like to introduce you to Sally Williams.
Hi Sally, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Memory is the cornerstone of identity. Without it, we lose our sense of self — the narrative thread that connects who we were to who we are. Photographs serve as tangible anchors to specific moments in our lives, preserving not just images, but fragments of our very being. I believe, wholeheartedly, that photography is essential to the human experience. It allows us to curate how we present ourselves to the world, and in the wake of loss, a single image can become an irreplaceable treasure. My own journey into photography was born from grief — the sudden loss of my brother, and the quiet realization that a handful of photographs were all I had left of him.
Photography has always spoken to me as an art form, offering the ability to paint with light. In time, I found my way into branding photography. In taking a few head shots I came across something I hadn’t anticipated: the transformative experience of watching people show up, fully and intentionally, for themselves. These individuals understand that their images will form a first impression, and there is something in that meaningful for me when it comes to helping someone ensure that their images reflects who they truly are.
I wanted this work to mean something beyond the just serving my clients. To bridge the world of business with the heartbeat of community and my faith, 10% percent of my profits are gifted quarterly to a local nonprofit. It is a small way of ensuring that the work we do together ripples outward — helping our community “stay golden”.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I like to tell people that everyone is a photographer. We all have cameras on our phones and AI can edit/alter/change your image to its definition of “perfection”. Coming into photography humbly I have learned that the art I create with a client is truly unique. It’s not for everyone and in the photography world there are many that would say that I have a lot to learn. Lucky for me, I have thick skin and know that the right people will find me. I have found that a dash of delusion, a mentor to give constructive criticism, and keeping my focus on being a light in the lives of my clients keeps me focused and passionate.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a branding photographer located in Kennesaw, Georgia. This allows me to pop into ATL or hop up to the mountains at a moments notice. My editing style is true-to-color. I love finding clients that are looking to stand out by going beyond white walls and black tops.
Aside from donating 10% quarterly to local non profits I am particularly proud of being an authentic individual with my clients. I truly care about their businesses thriving and put in a lot of work prior to our shoot to understand exactly what impressions they want their clients to get.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Traffic I’m pretty sure is our purgatory. Aside from that, places to photograph here are endless and I am so grateful to have versatility for all businesses looking to make their brand shine.
