Conversations with Sara Sasic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Sasic

Hi Sara , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, located in Europe. My background greatly influenced my design style, which is inspired by neoclassicism, romanticism gold accents, and decorative details. I have always been passionate about art, fashion, and industrial design, particularly focusing on furniture. Combining these interests which are part of my undergrad degree, I wanted to be able to create spaces around fashion and furniture which led me to explore the world of interior design. This decision also led me to Atlanta, where I pursued a master’s degree in interior design at the amazing Savannah College of Art and Design which I just completed this summer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge for me was changing my lifestyle as someone who moved from Europe to the United States. I was not familiar with anyone, and the only thing guiding me was my passion for art and design. I like to say that my story is a reversed “Emily in Paris” story in the most fun way possible. Passion, consistency, and belief made my journey smooth, and I saw obstacles just as challenges waiting to be conquered.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in interior, industrial, and fashion design. I am currently working as an interior designer in Atlanta focusing on luxury interior design. However, one of my huge passions is painting and writing. I am currently working on a painting exhibition called “Metamorphosis of Narcissus,” which will be organized by Terminal d’Art in Atlanta this month. In addition to that, I just launched a podcast called “Redefining Luxury,” where I interview artists and entrepreneurs from diverse fields. These conversations inspire self-esteem, creativity, and individuality. This podcast is a guide to letting go of fear, embracing uniqueness, and discovering the timeless luxury of living.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Speaking of the city of Atlanta, where I currently live, I definitely like the art scene, many interior design and furniture showrooms and events, and of course the diverse people from all over the world. The countless opportunities in art and design that the city offers are priceless and there is nothing to dislike about Atlanta!
