Conversations with The Remidi

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Remidi.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey as an artist began in church when I was just 8 years old. Singing in front of the congregation gave me my first experience performing and sparked a lifelong passion for music. By the age of 11, I had started writing poetry as a way to express my thoughts and emotions. Over time, those poems naturally evolved into songs as I taught myself how to create melodies and structure records.
I spent countless days and nights studying music, developing my vocal abilities, and refining my songwriting skills. Everything I learned came through dedication, persistence, and a genuine love for the craft. From the beginning, I was determined to become the best artist I could be.
After building momentum with my self-titled debut album, “The Remidi,” I made the bold decision to move to Atlanta in pursuit of greater opportunities. Leaving home was not easy, and establishing a stable life in a new city came with significant challenges. Throughout my journey, I have experienced homelessness, unemployment, and financial hardship while chasing my dreams. There were times when I slept in my car after performances, yet I remained committed to my goals, maintaining the discipline, work ethic, and professionalism necessary to protect my image and brand.
Rather than complain or make excuses, I chose to embrace every obstacle as part of the process. Each setback strengthened my character and prepared me for the opportunities ahead. Along the way, I have appeared on “The Debut” platform, worked in background roles for film and television productions, including the hit series “P-Valley,” and starred as the lead actor in the short film “Pretty Hood.” I also became a certified personal trainer while continuing to create music for myself and write for other artists. In addition, I have had the privilege of performing as a background vocalist for Lyfe Jennings.
Considering where I come from a small city like Lake City South Carolina, these accomplishments represent major milestones. Many people may never fully understand the adversity I faced to achieve them, but every challenge has shaped the person and artist I am today. I know there is still much more for me to accomplish, and my journey has never been solely about personal success. My greatest purpose is to inspire others to rise above their circumstances, pursue their dreams relentlessly, and strive every day to become the best version of themselves.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has not been easy. Coming from a small town like Lake City South Carolina where there isn’t much opportunity for growth and or motivation to really dream big and become who we were truly gifted and created to be moving to a much bigger city to pursue my dreams meant stepping into an unfamiliar world and learning everything as I went. I had to navigate the music and entertainment industry while figuring out who to trust, what opportunities were legitimate, and how to avoid the many scams that promise success but lead nowhere.

At the same time, I was dealing with financial instability and uncertainty about where I would sleep from one day to the next. There were moments when I was broke, struggling to make ends meet, and trying to stay focused on my goals despite the challenges surrounding me. What made it even more difficult was that people back home often saw the highlights—performances, television appearances, and other accomplishments—and assumed everything was going well. They were proud of me, and I appreciated their support, but many did not see the sacrifices, setbacks, and hardships that existed behind the scenes.

Despite those obstacles, I remained committed to my vision. Every challenge taught me valuable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and faith. I continued to push forward, building my career one opportunity at a time, refusing to let temporary circumstances define my future. Through homelessness, financial struggles, and countless disappointments, I stayed dedicated to my craft and focused on creating a better life for myself.

Along the way, I have been blessed with opportunities to perform, appear on television, work on film productions, and collaborate with talented artists. These experiences have helped shape me both personally and professionally, but they are only part of the story. The real story is about endurance—the determination to keep going when things are difficult and the willingness to believe in yourself even when no one else fully understands what you are going through.

My journey continues, and while I am proud of how far I have come, I know there is still much more to accomplish. Above all, I hope my story serves as a reminder that success is not always what it appears to be from the outside. Behind every achievement is a process, and behind every dream is a person willing to sacrifice, struggle, and keep moving forward no matter the circumstances.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an entertainer, recording artist, actor, certified personal trainer and creative professional with experience across music, television, and film. My work centers on storytelling, performance, and connecting with audiences through authentic experiences. And giving a true R&B feel with genuine lyrics and vocals. Over the years, I have had opportunities to perform live, appear on television, contribute to film productions, and collaborate with a variety of talented artists and industry professionals.
I specialize in bringing passion, versatility, and professionalism to every project I take on. Whether I am performing on stage, working in front of the camera, or developing creative content behind the scenes, I strive to create meaningful work that resonates with people. I am known for my determination, strong work ethic, and ability to adapt to different creative environments while staying true to my vision.
What I am most proud of is not just the accomplishments themselves, but the journey it took to achieve them. I built my career while overcoming significant challenges, Those experiences taught me resilience, perseverance, and the importance of continuing to move forward even when circumstances are difficult. Every opportunity I have earned represents years of dedication, sacrifice, and belief in my goals.
What sets me apart is my story and the perspective it brings. I understand what it means to start with limited resources and create opportunities through persistence and hard work. Rather than allowing obstacles to define me, I have used them as motivation to grow both personally and professionally. That mindset influences everything I do and allows me to connect with people in a genuine way.
As I continue to expand my career, my focus remains on creating impactful work, inspiring others through my journey, and building a lasting legacy through entertainment and the arts.

What’s next?
I’m excited about the future and focused on continuing to grow my career across music, television, film, and other creative ventures. One of my biggest goals is to expand my reach as an entertainer and storyteller by taking on larger projects, collaborating with new creative partners, and exploring opportunities that allow me to connect with audiences on an even greater scale.

I’m particularly looking forward to releasing new music, developing original content, and pursuing more acting and production opportunities. I want to continue building a body of work that reflects my experiences, creativity, and passion while challenging myself to evolve as an artist and professional. I’m also interested in creating projects that inspire others, especially people who may be facing obstacles and need encouragement to keep pursuing their goals.

Beyond career growth, I’m focused on building long-term stability and creating opportunities that can have a positive impact on others. Having overcome significant challenges in my own life, including financial hardship and homelessness, I understand the value of perseverance and the importance of giving back. As my career continues to develop, I hope to use my platform to motivate, mentor, and support others who are working to overcome difficult circumstances.

The future is full of possibilities, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead. My plan is to keep learning, growing, and pushing myself creatively while staying true to the values that have guided me throughout my journey. I look forward to continuing to build a meaningful career, reaching new milestones, and creating a lasting legacy through entertainment, storytelling, and positive impact.
